Keep the weekly alarm test, the monthly lighting and extinguisher checks and the fire door checks in one place, and hand the inspector a PDF.
FireBook is a fire safety logbook for the person responsible for a building: the
caretaker, the landlord, the managing agent, the small business owner.
It keeps the recurring duties in one place and works out what is due and when.
WHAT IT DOES
- This Week board showing every duty that is due or overdue
- Call point rotation: under BS 5839-1 a different call point comes up each week, and FireBook tracks which ones have been covered and which weeks were missed
- Guided checks for fire doors (the six point check), emergency lighting flick and duration tests, extinguisher visuals and services, drills and staff training
- Defect register: a failed check raises a defect that stays open until you record what was done to put it right, when, and by whom
- Asset registers for call points, emergency lights, fire doors and extinguishers, each with its reference, location and photo
- Year ledger: a 52 week view of the weekly alarm test, so a missed week is visible rather than buried in a list
- Inspector Pack PDF: duty history, the rotation record, the asset registers and the defect log, as one document
- Reminders for any duty, at the time of day that suits the building
- UK or US rule sets per premises: BS 5839-1, BS 5266-1 and BS 5306-3 intervals, or NFPA 72, NFPA 101, NFPA 80 and NFPA 10
- Works offline. Your records stay on your device, with no account and no upload.
The standard tier keeps one premises with unlimited registers, checks and defects. A plan adds the Inspector Pack PDF and more than one premises. Nothing you have already recorded is ever locked or deleted.
WHO IT IS FOR
Responsible persons under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, and the people who keep the same records in the United States: landlords, managing agents, block caretakers, premises officers at schools and churches, and small business owners.
WHAT IT IS NOT
FireBook keeps records and reduces the risk of a missed check. It does not assess fire risk, certify compliance, or replace the advice of a competent person or a fire risk assessor. The duties and intervals it suggests are common defaults for the region you choose. The correct ones for your building come from its fire risk assessment.
