GP Locum is the admin half of locum work, done properly on your phone. Log a session in the car park before you forget it. Raise the invoice from the sessions you already logged. Fill Form A and Form B from the same figures rather than typing them out a third time. And know, at any point in the year, what you should be putting aside for tax. WHAT IT DOES Diary - log a session in seconds. Save each practice and its usual fee, copy regular sessions, add shifts to your phone calendar, and bring in past sessions from a spreadsheet or a calendar file. Invoices - create proper PDF invoices from the sessions already in your diary. Automatic numbering, sent and paid tracking, and email or sharing from the app. NHS Pension - genuine NHSBSA Form A and Form B, completed from your existing session figures. Pensionable pay, employer contributions, tiered member contributions and the cumulative Box J figure are worked out for you, with the 10-week deadline tracked automatically. Filling in the forms is part of GP Locum Pro, below. Mileage - keep a proper log of business mileage. Enter each journey's distance and the app keeps the log. For 2026/27, cars use 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles and 25p thereafter. Expenses - record expenses as you go, categorised for your tax return, and combine them with mileage into your overall expense figures. Income and expenses - export a whole year or any date range as a PDF or spreadsheet for your accountant. Rate setter and salaried vs locum - see what a session is really worth after pension, tax and unpaid leave, and compare it with a salaried post. GP LOCUM PRO The part that does the paperwork and the arithmetic for you. Complete your NHS Pension forms - Form A and Form B filled in from the sessions you have already logged, with the tiered rate and the cumulative Box J figure worked out. Know what to put aside for tax - estimated Income Tax, National Insurance, student loan and payments on account, updated as the year progresses. Prepare your MTD quarterly figures - turn the sessions, income and expenses you have already recorded into your quarterly figures, to send through your own bridging software. GP Locum is not HMRC-recognised software. Export without re-entering your data - create the workbook used by 123 Sheets or My Tax Digital. Don't miss business mileage - automatic road distances from home to each practice. Everything is included free for your first 90 days, with no card required. After that, GP Locum Pro is £5.49 a month or £49.99 a year. Your diary, invoices, expenses, mileage log and statements stay free. Nothing you have already created is ever taken away. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings. YOUR RECORDS, ON YOUR PHONE AND ONLINE Your records live on your phone and work without a signal. If you want them backed up, and to open them on a computer, sign in with your email (a code is sent to you, there is no password) and your records stay in step with gplocumapp.co.uk. It is optional: the app works fully without an account. Your bank details, National Insurance number, GMC number, pension membership number and signature are locked on your own devices before they leave the phone, with a key only you hold, so nobody else can read them.
