Silent in the masjid: once Bilal sees you walk in, calls and start times there arrive with no sound or buzz. Choose each prayer's call in Preferences > Your call > Each prayer: the athan, a tone, or a quiet notification. The athan is the default. When your call comes before the prayer has begun, mostly at Fajr, its tone is now louder and steadier. Prayer start times in Preferences: see Fajr begin at 18°, choose the earlier or later Asr, and fine-tune with a live preview. Jama'ah times always stay your masjid's. Near can now list mosques by nearest as well as soonest.

Home now follows the day. Once Fajr begins, it shows how long until sunrise. After sunrise, it shows when duha begins and ends. At night, it shows the best time for tahajjud, the last third of the night. Look under the glass on your prayer times. Tapping another mosque under Your usual mosque now shows its times first, and asks before it becomes your usual. Block prayer times in your work calendar: in Preferences, send yourself the link, choose your prayers and the minutes either side, and add it to Outlook or Google Calendar. A smoother map on Near, and Home fits on one screen. Timetables you send are kept and sent again if they don't go through, and year-long timetable PDFs read this month.

If you pray in the sisters’ area, tell Bilal once, when you set up or under Where you pray in Preferences. Near then shows the nearest masjids that say they have a sisters’ area, how far each one is, and the prayer it’s time for. Finding a place for someone else? Tap search on Near, then Masjids with a sisters’ area. Send this masjid shares one with a link to its times. A masjid’s page also shows what it has, like wudu, parking and step-free access. On Fridays in London, halls that hold only Jumu’ah appear beside the masjids.

You can now bring someone with you. Tap Bring someone on Home to send a friend your next jama’ah, with a link to the masjid’s times. If Bilal has no times for your masjid, scan the timetable on its noticeboard. Bilal reads it on your iPhone, you check it, and everyone who prays there gets the times. You can choose what happens when each prayer begins: nothing, a soft tone or the athan. The map is easier to read, with smaller pins for each masjid. After a jama’ah, Bilal’s question about the time now drops in at the top of the screen, where it’s easy to answer.

This update makes it easier to find a jama’ah and get there. Near keeps congregations visible for ten minutes after they begin, so you can still find one to join. Map labels and mosque cards are clearer. Your walking or driving choice is remembered across journey estimates, calls and directions. Prayer calculation settings follow your current country more reliably. We’ve also updated how Bilal detects arrival at your mosque to help record your jama’ah and quiet the call when you get there.

A refreshed Home, Near and Qibla, with smoother movement and clearer prayer and jama’ah times. Near follows your location as you walk and keeps a congregation visible while you can still join it. Search handles more spellings, including Turkish place names. When you’re away from your usual mosque, your Fajr leave time includes the journey plus your extra time for Fajr.
