A while since my initial review. But all of a sudden since IOS 11.2 I am hearing even more detail in the music. Am sure Apple have improved DAC or USB support.Been using the new version a while and welcome the on screen display of original bit rate and playback rate . Will have to check if it shows big resolution also. Would like the display to show 16 or 24 bit.As someone with a large flac and DSD/DSF collection iTunes is a no go.I tried this and OMG, so much detail. I started using this on a 6 plus and the clarity ,detail smoothness even on mid range headphones or the supplied ear pods was stunning. I have not enjoyed music for so long.Hearing and discovering new notes, imstruments, tweaks and twangs with every listen.I started to look for usb DAC to use with Apples USB lightening cable and upgraded to an Iphone 7, What a surprise noth the 3.5mm lightening adapter and the lightening ear buds support DOP format. Even the lightening buds are bought to life by this app in a way iTunes could never do. In love with it.The upscaling cia the hd pack has to be heard to be believed.My caveats1) I would love DLNA support so I can download direct from my music server instead of the iTunes sync.2) Interface could be updated. I will like to share playlists on social media.3) when laying one track from an album I would like to easily see all tracks from that albim or artist.4) No fault of Onkyo its a shame there is no standard directory for 3rd party music files eg flac dsd files that iTunes can’t support but other players can, Its great all these players pickup mp3 from iTunes but I want to be able to share flacs and othes between apps.Knocked a star of for lack of DLNA support. Picky I know. This app alone has re ignitd my love and passion for music that got lost with digial personal music players.Also would like the bit depth shown On the info page.

I bought this Onkyo HiFi Player and loved it so much. However, I have some issues with it.I have a big flac and dsd library. I sorted everything with folders. Every playlist folder has many songs in it. But the problem is that when I import them to the player it shows all the songs in one list and don't seperate them by folder. So I cannot save each folder as a playlist :(Could you guys add a "folder view" to the app? Also make it easy to add songs to a playlist (maybe selecting songs to add a playlists or selecting a whole folder to add a playlist). Also another thing, I decided to change the metatag of music files. So I changed the album tag for each song to make them belong to different playlists (like, song a's album is dance music and song b's album tag is slow music...). But this was hifi player ended up showing same album art for every song :(

Clear and straightforward interface. Worth the in-app purchase upgrade to allow playback of high definition files. Works flawlessly with iTunes to copy the high res files to your iPhone. I use the Onkyo in combination with an iPhone, an Oppo HA-2 and a pair of quality headphones and the results are truly outstanding. Have tried another well known high res app but for the best user experience this app is definitely my one of choice. Does its job well.UPDATE - still using after a few years now and can still fully recommend. Works beautifully with an Oppo HA-2SE and also the THX Onyx. Contrary to another reviewer, customer support IS available - they sorted out a small problem for me quickly and efficiently.

Love this app. I have an OnkyoNetwork streamer and a remote app so am used to the Onkyo environment. Have put the music app on my new 256g iPod Touch with the Hi Res paid upgrade and have successfully transferred all my FLAC and Hi Res albums to the Hi Res Library. However, the library will only show albums or songs. It will not show Artists to select a certain artist. Selecting Artist just goes to a blank page. This feature works just fine in the iPod library, but not in the Hi Res library. I can’t find out how to contact the developer so hoping they read these reviews and will respond with help???Would be 5 stars if I could just get it to sort by artist as I have over 600 albums to sort.
