One of the things I like about Surge is how user friendly the interface is. Without having to go through a series of complicated steps of settings, it goes straight to the point and within a minute you are already swapping profiles, and in my first hour I had already matched 3 times. (Also you can like as many profiles a day as you want) Compared to other apps, it has a lot of options available by default for free users such as set age range, preferences, distance,… for the profiles that will be displayed for you. And verified users? YES!! Finally an app that has a way to protect their users from fake profiles, scammers, and catfish. Thank you! The app also doesn’t have aggressive adverts and you can navigate through the interface without worrying to press a popping advert by mistake. One thing I would like to be improved in the future is the possibility for free users to see more people in your area, as swapping within a close range to you doesn’t usually last long and you’re forced to widen the area in order to see more profiles. Also I think there should be a few more free options available for free users such as Power Messages, which in my opinion will help with users being more engaged with the app and therefore increase the number of overall users and possible premium members

The functionality of this app is pretty simple. I liked that database has a lot more local listings in my area than some of the other dating apps out there. One of the neat features is that if somebody likes you first, you get a notification, even though their profile is grayed out/locked (unless you have a premium membership), typically if you go to your match suggestions they’ll be on the top of the list so you can very quickly see who recently liked you and learn more.I also appreciate that the app has a verifiable function to show which users are for real. Overall I have had more matches and conversations with this app than the others I’ve tried out there. I might want to go with premium to see what I’ve missed - the “rewind” feature will let you look back on people may have accidentally swiped left on - whoops! I had a few that i didn't mean to and wanted to check out again.

I swiped left by mistake to try and see the next guy. That permanently removes them as a dislike and you need premium to get them back. I like the other apps where you can permanently see guys around you. With this app you can’t do that. I’m considering deleting it after sending this review. I purchased premium at the 50% offer for a month to see if it helped. It didn’t and I’m now deleting this app. I can’t understand why only 5% of guys fill out a profile. Other apps don’t make people fill it in but 75% of guys fill it in. It’s not clear to me why they don’t do it on here. I know those that have contacted me haven’t read mine and so wasted my time, as well as their time discovering it wasn’t a match after all! A friend on here is having the same problem. He’s 18 and wants over 50 yet bombarded with stuff from teenagers! He has also deleted the app. Guys can’t even be bothered to state whether they are top bottom or versatile and yet that would help them. But, you seem to have a lot of guys on here despite this! Maybe it’s the novelty factor of liking or rejecting? Yet Jack’d has a similar system and they have the same problem I think. However in my opinion theirs is better as they have a gallery to look through. I miss that with yours, as I look for local guys. That may help your app perhaps? Maybe you should encourage people to fill out their profiles? When they join and put their basic details on, perhaps make your app go to the profile and then to whatever is next until they have completed everything! Hope this helps.

Surge is very easy to use - swipe left or right etc and has a very organic feel. Editing of your profile and receiving/replying to messages are easy and intuitive. You get a fair selection of "swipes" and the only odd thing with it is that some of the "near me" profiles that pop up are hundreds of miles away. Now for the gripes: The first is one that some guys (including me) have experienced being unable to log into an existing profile and having to set up a new one. The second gripe concerns a more recent problem: for a number of weeks I'd opened the App to find a half visible profile image - one that I couldn't open up and that I couldn't even swipe. As this is the main part of the App, this was/is a real problem - as is reporting the issue THREE times via the feedback link and getting no reply until a final report stated I was going to delete the App. By way of reply - sent as an email - the admin requested my email details (that they already have) and the statement they'd look into it. Not a lot of help really! After over a month of being unable to use Surge, I had no option but to delete an App that started out promisingly but ended up being a disappointment.
