A great platform, the one addition I hope they bring in is auto cloud backup.I foolishly thought this already was a function and lost all my data when I switched iPads. Their customer support was excellent and after piecing old data with newer data from my current airline records they were able to sort it and put it in the correct format to upload again. Their customer support was outstanding.

Hello J Horton, thank you for taking the time to leave this review and share your feedback. We're so happy to hear that you're loving LogTen as much as we do! We hear you loud and clear with regards to data safety and security, and we'd like to assure you that it is one of our top priorities to make sure we're doing everything we can to help our fellow pilots prevent accidental or unintentional actions relating to data and backups. Our world class customer support is always standing by to help with any question or concern, and we're glad to hear that we were able to help you get everything restored and back up and running. Keep making those manual backups (we pilots LOVE redundancy), and of course feel free to get back in touch with us anytime! Blue skies and tailwinds, Heather & Team Coradine
Unforgivable bugs and UI decisions
iCrAk
So… was recommended this app and migrated over. Found the app relatively user friendly although there do seem to be some glaring omissions (logout button anyone?) In any case the problems started a few days ago when a CFI friend was having a look with the intention of maybe migrating over as well and he managed to change himself to PIC off ALL my flights where I was PIC - even though those flights were “locked” which supposedly prevents the data within from being changed. Then I had an issue whereby my iPhone would not sync with my iPad. All the entries were in my iPad with nothing shown in the iPhone. No problem - a recent update from LogTen along with an email saying that all devices must be updated for the newest sync feature to function. So all devices updated and when logging in on the iPad I then faced a screen saying the data is out of sync and must be redownloaded from the cloud. At this point I knew 100% what was about to happen. Clicked the button - the only button - the only option presented to you the user is to continue and… you guessed it - all my flights disappeared. So now my iPad and iPhone are perfectly in sync with nothing showing on either. Fortunately I had made a backup prior to all of this but…. You can’t use it. You must contact them. The design decisions made are beyond frustrating.

Hello iCrAk, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and leave this review. We’re sorry about the confusion, but we’re happy to report that there certainly is a log-out button in LogTen, it can be found tapping on Account → Profile. It sounds like your colleague might have changed the name in your profile to their own, which would update the flights where you are named, our Support Team will be happy to help with this. We designed the update process to have several layers of protection and avenues to contact support throughout, although it sounds like you might have replaced your logbook instead. We can certainly help with this as well, as the update will create precautionary backups that our Support Team will be happy to help you restore. If you haven’t already, please reach out to support@coradine.com, or through the Help Menu in LogTen and we’ll help you undo those actions as a matter of priority. We look forward to hearing from you! // Tailwinds, Team Coradine.
Lost all my data, how the mighty have fallen
Anonymunis
What once was the best eLogbook, has now caused all my data to be lost, FOR THE SECOND TIME. A few years ago I could not have praised this logbook and Coradine enough. I knew it was a company I could trust, always backed by a support team willing to go the extra mile (Thomas and David helped me land a job at Virgin!), THAT alone was worth the premium subscription. Unsure what’s happened over the last 2-3 years but it’s stagnant, no new features announced (sign my export, which ALL competitors do, and a silly Careers tab that can’t be used outside the US, so why show me it!). I’ve been waiting 3 years for a few new airports and one aircraft to be added to the database, cmon! Now the app is unreliable, it won’t open half the time, and last week all my data was lost. Support is basically AI, (or agents that sound like it and just don’t care). No new features, no support, why am I paying a subscription? Every person I’ve flown with that uses LogTen says the same thing. Time to move to Logger, cheerio!

Hi Anonymunis,We’re really sorry to hear this, especially given your long history with LogTen. Losing data is a serious concern, and what you’ve described is not normal behavior or the experience we want anyone to have.Pilot data is our number one priority, and it’s backed up in multiple ways to ensure its safety in LogTen. Your data is secure, and we want to understand exactly what happened here. We’re also sorry to hear you’ve had trouble reaching support. We recently introduced a new system to help people access self-serve answers more quickly, but you can always reach us directly at support@logten.com, or by asking for an “Agent” through the ‘Tower’ in-app support system. If you’re open to it, please get in touch and mention this review. We’d like to look into your case in detail, help recover your data if it hasn’t already been recovered yet, and make sure you get the clear, fast and direct support you expect. Thanks, Team LogTen
It’s a logbook for crying out loud
TheAlpine
I bought LogTen Pro many years ago, believing that paper logbooks were perhaps a thing of the past. While the theory is good and a basic, functional E-logbook would be useful, the reality has been different. LogTen Pro became LogTen as I recall and with it there came an anouncement that an annual subscription would be required. After being reassured access to the original MacOS logbook would not be imparied and considering the development costs ofthe IOS apps and the convenience, I accepted this. The price then, as I recall, was less than half of what it is now. This evening I have gone to update my logbook as I return to flying (as many of us are in the process of doing) and have been horrified to find not only is this app over 100 GBP/YR, but the functionality of my original logbook is indeed limited, namely that the basic function of importing data from files is not available without subscription. My strong advice, having used both paper and electronic logbooks, to any prospective pilot or airline pilot is to simply to make a spreadsheet. The reality is no one cares about your logbook presentation, save that there is a tidy representation of your flight hours. A huge amount of the features available in this and other logbooks is completely redundant. Consider the absurdity of spending such an ongoing sum and learn from the bitter experience of paying a one off fee and even subscribing for number of years, only to find basic functionality is limited by a developed who seems to show littel respect for its original customers. Ratcheting up prices to these levels over the years shows no regard. What will it be in five years? 200 GBP/YR? Absolutely nuts.

Hello TheAlpine, thank you for taking the time to leave this review and share your feedback. We sincerely appreciate you having been such a long time customer, and we understand that we wouldn’t be where we are today were it not for customers such as yourself. We’re really sorry to hear about any frustrations or confusion over our past and current pricing model, and we’re always happy to provide detailed information on the multitude of ways that LogTen is far superior and more useful than paper logbooks and simple spreadsheets. But first and foremost, we would very much like to hear from you directly so that we can take a look at the products that you used to have and that you are using now and help clear up any confusion. It’s important to note that all previous versions of LogTen will absolutely continue to work as advertised (including importing functionality) for as long as you need, as long as they are being run on the software and hardware that they were designed for. It might also help to explain that when we first launched what was then called LogTen Pro X back in October 2014, we had a small number of limited-time special offers for existing and new customers to be able to sign up at a discounted rate; but these have since been discontinued. Now, everyone has access to predictable, consistent pricing which simultaneously allows us to continue to provide ongoing support and updates to ensure that for each new device and software update from Apple, LogTen will continue to seamlessly accommodate the changes. We were even able to improve our offering to students pilots by increasing the maximum number of hours for the free version from 50 to 250 - a 500% increase. We’re pilots ourselves, and we recognized the frustrations of manually logging hours by having to spend an absurd amount of time analyzing data in order to calculate currency, rest, and totals for new ratings or endorsements applications; not to mention the lack of security and data integrity. LogTen offers solutions to all of this and so much more, and we’d be more than happy to review all the features that may be relevant to you that might not have even known about. Every pilot knows how valuable and irreplaceable their logbooks are, and we are dedicated to making sure we are doing everything we can to secure, streamline, and improve everything logbook related. Please reach out to us whenever it is convenient for you, and be sure to mention this review so we can expedite our reply. You can email support@coradine.com directly, or go through the Help menu within the app. Our world-class support team is always standing by and looking forward to helping you. Until then, blue skies and tailwinds! -Heather & Team Coradine
