Very good game but also very elitist

Been playing now for 6 plus years. Great game if you play it right. I’m 66 and found it a bit difficult to learn. I’m at 47% win rate and that’s generally scoffed at. Even though I’m now a 55-60% but once you’ve played a few thousand games it’s impossible to get above 50. The “pros” will slag you off but they stupidly don’t realise that without those who aren’t so good at the game they wouldn’t have the stats they do! A little while ago WG changed the matching making so the you tended to play players of your own skill level and guess what? All these “elite” players suddenly found their stats dropping because they weren’t killing the lesser players, they moaned and groaned so much that the old match maker was reinstalled so they could keep their stats up by beating lesser players again. If you can put up with these elitist whining idiots then play the game and enjoy the nuances of the different tanks. If you really want good stats play a couple of thousand games then start again. Or for be called a noob and dissed!UPDATE: WG have responded but clearly haven’t read my review properly. I said the MM was skill based for a while s couple of years ago and they changed it back because the do called experts didn’t like playing skilled players despite the fact that they always moan about the less skilled players

This game deserved a 5 star rating, but the developers seem to totally and arrogantly ignore all the complaints on matchmaking issues, and instead they come up with stupid standard phrases like “We are sorry you feel that…blah blah blah” Why don’t you just fix this massive problem? Do you lack competent people in your company? Answer: There is no place to address the matchmaking problem. This tell us that you are not taking this serious. And there is no improvement what so ever on matchmaking. Your support says that the matchmaking is based solely on tanks. While it doesn’t even seem right, the matchmaking is extremely poor, this is based on poor players performance destroying the game for more experienced players. More than three quarters of my losses is due to players who have absolutely no clue what they are doing. In tier 10! This is easy to fix if you just put some effort into it. Reply: Ok - so when it says “Matching players” this is highly incorrect - you are just matching tanks(?) At least you should change that text please. Also - let your whole team know this, because some of you will say that you work on the matchmaking. In fact there are no matchmaking for players at all - only tank-matching. Correct? Please make it clear that you have no intentions to actually make matchmaking of players…(?)So - even worse is it that you decide to not tell the truth about matchmaking to us who play the game

Teams are formed according to the balance of the vehicles. Personal players' statistics are not taken into account.With such matching, the teams have an equal chance of winning and the result of the battle depends only on the actions of the players and the coherence of the team.If you want to play with players of approximately the same skill level, you can play rating battles.

I really enjoy playing this game (most of the time), mainly down to the fact that as a kid I began playing the console version of WOT in its 3rd or 4th year and a couple years later realised that there was also a mobile version when I got my first phone. The graphics are great and the gameplay is genuinely good. As I discovered more recently when I had a malfunction with my game that the player support team are very good they responded to my incident and had it fixed within 24hrs. But there are a few problems with the game that I would like to express if you are considering getting this game. 1. The player base, I’m a pretty average player with a win rate of about 53% which does so the evenness of victory/defeat. However I find more than sometimes that the results are ‘my team gets stomped’ or ‘enemy team gets stomped’ there isn’t much balance some of the time when it comes to teams. 2. The price of things in the store I’ve seen this expressed in many other reviews but I would like to add mine, the cost of a tank at tier 8 is roughly £10-£15 and that’s without any added bonuses equipment, camo etc. I think if you are reading this review as a new player I believe it is worthwhile saving your gold and waiting until you pull a free tank from an event or a free crate. Overall I find this game can be fun and enjoyable even if your team gets absolutely decimated you can still bounce back with a victory next game, you just have to get the learning curve of the tank your playing, the community is generally helpful and great fun to platoon with so go and enjoy the game! I love this game, but there are flaws.

I play this game daily and love to collect tanks. Being pretty keen on collecting I’ve invested a fair few quid though, as although the game is free to play, it can become expensive dependant of your goals. Graphics and game play using my iPhone 8+ are great. Updates bring new things each time, and the recent one (update 5) has been a good one, finally doing away with the horrible spare parts system which everyone that played the game seemed to hate. Looking forward to new lines/new premiums that are upcoming, however just as everyone else I hate the current gambling/crates set up to acquire them, even though I was one of the people dumb enough to buy crates for the Chieftain mk6 but luckily managed to get it. They also constantly seem to adjust tanks you have worked hard to get after you have bought them. I understand that balancing is needed, but with me favouring British and US lines it’s usually not in my favour. I find that one day my favourite tanks which you play well/have fun in, will just get massively nerfed at WG leisure, sometimes making them useless (T49 is a good example of this, needed nerfing but not as much as they did it, compared to the T54LWT Russian equivalent it is completely outclassed now). It sometimes frustrates me that the Russian developers seem to make the Russian tanks unrealistically overpowered compared to their western equivalents with what seems to be a little help from RNGesus, but this is an arcade game after all, so realism doesn't need to be exact.
