The App works okay with my Apple SE phone (2020 model), but It will not work with my 11" Pro iPad. The Camera flashes green, to show the connection, but that is all. I'm using a lightning to USB Type C adapter, which I know works as it allows me to connect my iPhone and iPad to my Windows laptop to upload and download photos.

I purchased a Flir one when I had an older iPhone. Now the phone’s IOS has updated, so has the the app is now no longer compatible with the phone. Even buying an older iPhone, the app requires a more recent IOS.Whilst I understand that devices can’t be supported forever. I now have a Flir that would would still work but is not supported by the phone. In an age where we are supposed to be conscious of the the environment, I now have to throw away a fully functioning device and am expected to buy another. Ridiculous!What it has taught me is that if I had purchased a standalone device, it would still be working. That is my next purchase and it won’t be a Flir as there are plenty of cheaper alternatives these days.

Good - but could be better

Love what the app can do but it’s not very user friendly to use the camera with the unit on the bottom , when you rotate the phone 180 so the camera is on top some of the display will rotate with the phone but the record and shutter button does not which is pretty poor. Also not to happy that you make a product designed especially for an iPhone/iPod but don’t have the software that you have for windows available for a Mac. Pretty pointless, if I knew this before I’d of looked at another thermal camera system.

Advertised features removed over time

I have owned my FLIR one for a few years and have been fairly happy with the camera but I getting fed up with the functionality being removed from the app. I used to be able to lock the temperature scale and measure the temperature of different areas in the image after the photo had been taken but all that has been removed. Now it’s just a single spot reading and the scale resets for every picture. I presume that’s now a feature of the more expensive pro model which didn’t exist when I bought mine. Buy someone else’s camera. FLIR will make yours worse over time by removing features to force you to buy a newer model.
