Share true emotions, get reactions, have fun, get rid of boredom, make friends, or practice a foreign language all day long.
On Wakie, you can find real people by exploring topics and user profiles that interest you and choosing who you want to connect with.
It’s important to find a safe place where you can express your feelings and ideas without being judged. Wakie is a welcoming community that brings people together through shared interests and open conversations. Here you can enjoy voice talks and chats, exchange thoughts, and discuss everyday life with real people who are ready to listen.
Sometimes it’s hard to share something with people close to you. On Wakie, you can open up in a comfortable environment — whether in your native language or while practicing a new one — and connect with people who are online and happy to talk.
You browse topics and profiles, choose who you’d like to speak with, and conversations happen only when both participants agree. Enjoy meaningful one-to-one or group voice talks and chats in a respectful, community-guided space.
Just be yourself in a place where your voice matters!
Wakie puts your safety first
Wakie includes safety tools designed to help you feel comfortable while meeting and talking with others:
- Reporting & moderation: You can report messages, profiles, topics, and clubs at any time. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and we take action on violations.
- Block & no-contact: You can block any user from their profile or inside a chat. Blocking prevents future contact and hides content between you and that user.
- Mutual consent for 1:1: One-to-one conversations can happen only after an explicit request is accepted.
- Automated detection: We use automated systems to detect policy-violating content in bios, photos, topics, and chats and to help route suspicious activity for review.
Your experience and well-being are a priority for us. Our support and moderation operate continuously to help keep Wakie a respectful, positive community.
Our app is free to download and use. To keep Wakie’s core features free, we offer a premium package called Wakie Plus. While all current Wakie features remain free, some additional features are available to Wakie Plus users.
The subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase.

We, the Wakie team, are online pretty often and would love to hear your feedback in the “Send Feedback” section.

I've been on Wakie for 2 months now. PRO-meet and chat to people around the world-diverse range of topics to join-numerous groups to join for open mic-24/7 activity-make friends onlineCON-a larger % of males, some which can be quite "thirsty"-decent conversation can be quite sparse with all the attention seeking topics-potential trolling, bad manners, lewd behaviour can be common.OVERALLMet some amazing people, but you have to go into this with a thick skin and open mind. Majority of the friendships you make will be very short lived. And picking through brain vomit topics to find someone to chat to can be frustrating.Definitely don't recommend for anyone under 16 due to some of the content that people openly express. Although some 30+ people on there. Vast majority are young adults 16-early20s.
Was interesting initially, now waste of time
apprevnick1
This was one of the first apps I used, early after it was initially released. The initial concept - a human connection from across the planet at that most vulnerable moment of trying to wake up - was lovely. I used it a few times to receive calls and called others. With the exception of a few random pervs, it had potential. Then they went and complicated it way too much. Now it is indistinguishable from other chat apps, only it is not as good. The random pervs seem to dominate the app. And the wake up tool is difficult to find or use on the app. For me though, the final nail is the fact that for the past 3 months or so, since update version 2.8.15, the app language changed from English to Arabic. The fact that weeks later and 8 or so updates later they have yet to notice or fix this issue speaks very loudly on my lack of place in this environment. It’s a shame, but only look for the next team to implement this idea - Wakie is no more.Update: version 2.9.3. - update summary language finally changed back to English. App name still in Arabic though. It is to the developers credit that they release updates so frequently, but as I wrote before I am not sure they are clear on what kind of community they are expecting.
Developer Response
Hello Nick. In order to make our community larger adding new features is absolutely normal in the developing process. We're sorry to know you're not liking it anymore, we still have an alarm option to get wake up calls, you can find it right in the preset voice topics.Answering your doubts, the kind of community we're expecting is a friendly, welcoming, happy and equal for everybody. And we're trying our best to make it stay this way, but we can't do it unless you help us get rid of sexual, racist and trolling content by reporting them. We'll look into this language issue you mentioned. Thank you.
About wakie
wakiener or wakier
So I been using wakie for around 2 years now and it’s fun you get to post how you feel or anything you want and get responses comments and likes and people might DM you there’s also an option where u don’t allow people to DM you. You get to join a club where you can talk to a group of people according to how many people are on the club at that moment and if you don’t want to talk you can listen to the talkers and type. Then you get the 1 to 1 calls where people request to talk about something and you answer their call or you could request to talk about something and people answer your call. So you have calls topics and clubs. The app is anonymous mostly if you don’t wish to search your picture or name you don’t need to so you can troll all you want but always be nice lol. You will find decent people but I won’t lie and tell you everyone on there is fine there’s ALOT of lonely weirdos and ALOT of rude people that will possibly ruin your mood by being rude or whatever. If you download the app and your personality fits it then you’ll most likely get addicted to it at one point you’ll spend all day on there talking to people and making friends. Wakie is definitely a community and not everyone fits in there some people come and go and never come back some people come and stay I personally have thought many times I am DONE with this app and I have possibly left it for as long as 6 months but it seems like I always go back and every time you’ll go back you’ll think dam I miss my old friends on wakie but you know what you’ll find them again even they told you they’re leaving too lol and you’ll make new friends too. It’s a weird place I wouldn’t say it’s great or bad it’s okay the pros and the cons do balance out in the end I believe. If you decide to join and you like it welcome to the wakie world I hope you have thick skin because we’re a bunch of losers who possibly hate the world and we will come for you lololololol just kidding ... or am I...

This app is now a school where the children have taken over. A majority of the mods are teens - 25 and have little to no understanding of sarcasm or post context. If two friends are joking with each other a third party could enter, report a said comment and have it removed. Context isn’t taken into consideration. Anything like racism and culture cannot be discussed. Indeed no serious discussions can ever be had in that environment. It really is an app like no other. Think of it as a forum. You make a thread/topic and users are free to comment. However unlike a forum topics are created at a speed of 3 every second are rarely topics at all. 99% of wakie is short and meaningless sentences.Because of the amount being put out topics are rarely commented on, if worth doing so, and so users throw as much sh1t at the wall as possible to see what sticks. The users that post the most garbage get a reputation much like clicks at a school. These are the popular kids. God forbid you should ever disagree with any of those. The app has a contact support option but is never replied to within 2 weeks and then they also barely have any understanding of context. 60% of users are horny guys that demand girls direct message them. They’re usually topless in there pictures also. Because they make up a majority of wakie nothing is done about them. You can report them all day but they’ll remain and at most receive a 10 minute ban. Perverts are the backbone of wakie and anyone standing up to them are the ones most likely to be persecuted. Do not download this garbage. Don’t let your children download this garbage. Don’t even allow your pets to download it.
Hey, Wakies!
This version contains a bunch of bugfixes, we want you to use the most stable version of Wakie :)
Peace, love, enjoy Wakie!
