Our newest feature, ‘Be My AI’, is a pioneering AI assistant integrated in the Be My Eyes app. You can send images via the app to Be My AI, which will answer questions about that image and provide conversational AI generated visual descriptions for a wide variety of tasks in 36 languages. Be My AI is powered by artificial intelligence and is able to provide assistance in a wide variety of situations, from checking makeup before a night out to translating text from hundreds of different languages.

Wonderful, rewarding, amazing 10/10
Such a wonderful app, it truly is. I had the pleasure of helping a non sighted member recently and I can honestly say it was one of the most positive experiences I’ve had in recent times. If you’re looking for a reason to download, just do it. To be able to help someone, no matter how small the task or question, it is so rewarding and heart-warming. It takes only a few minutes to set up, and when you answer a call, it may only take a few minutes, but it could mean the world to the person you’re answering to! The first call can be scary, but part of the fun is forgetting your own problems and making a difference for a non sighted person who needs your help. It feels amazing to be able to make a difference to someone’s life even when you’re sat on the sofa, this app is changing the world. Would 100% recommend to anyone, everyone; just do it.
An easy to way to help people
I love the concept of this app. Installing it and getting set up is so easy. I’ve been a member for 18 months or so and have had perhaps 10 notifications in this time. I’ve maybe seen half of the notifications at the time but today was the first time I was the first to respond and be connected with someone seeking help. Spoke to a lovely guy and helped him understand the buttons on a dehumidifier he had recently bought, and helped him understand what the postman had written on where a parcel delivered to him had been left. 5 minutes of my time that would otherwise been spent watching rugby on the TV helping someone - what a win.
Lovely to help
I’ve only got to help one person so far. Usually when the phone rings it’s picked up quicker than I can get to it! I feel there are more people that want to help than blind people that know it’s an option, or at the least someone on the other end wants to help. I helped an American woman that was at the laundromat at 5am. Me being in the UK meant I was awake and able to help her. We had a lovely chat too. I actually wish there were more sight impaired people using it because there are so many sighted people ready and willing to help. They need to properly advise the site impaired about this service better.
