With the included guides and the ability to store favourite recipes this app makes cooking with Anova easier than ordering takeaway. I have the WiFi + Bluetooth Anova cooker. Since setting the app up it has been almost seamless. Only one hiccough occurred when I had some WiFi mishaps. Deleting, reinstalling, and then reconnecting resolved whatever the problem was. Getting notifications that the cooler has reached temp, that it has finished, and then being able to adjust its setting remotely is a real help when out of the house or working elsewhere at home.

This app needs a total remake. It’s functionality is unfriendly and is difficult to connect to WiFi, ended up putting it next to router and still had to turn off the 5ghz before it would connect. It cannot connect to on device and another without resetting. When it is up to temperature it does tell you but the timer does not start. App stores recipes and you cannot delete your recipes you don’t want! Works on an iPad with a small screen. Come on Anova you need to look at the functionality of the Webber, iGrill and Vitamix apps, all have iPad and iPhone versions.Anova produce a great product that lacks any app integration!I believe the Anova Precision Cooker is an excellent device that needs an App of the same quality, clearly someone needs to get on with it. I have never had to delete an app on iPhone in the 12 years I have been using them! Have you seen the reviews on the Apple App Store? They are ALL complaining about the same issue, that needs resolving.1. The WiFi of the Anova Precision not not like dual band routers. I had to turn my 5ghz off to get the Anova to connect. It does not loose connection with the WiFi.2. The app thinks there is no connection when I am in my house and also over mobile data. There is no specific reason for this but it happens two or three times per cook.3. After going to the great lengths of taking photos and typing up all the instructions I find that I cannot reselect the recipe.4. I have no way of deleting my recipes with the app.5. After publishing my recipes I find that their is no crossover with the internet Anova site. Do you really believe your clients are going to mess about putting recipes up twice!

Raised it to 3 stars. Discovered that if you upgrade to v3, you need to delete your old Anova in the app settings.. doesn't tell you that in the manual.. so just about working with my iPad.. run out of patience with the phone.Worked pretty well with my original precision cooker but horrible with v3 Cannot connect at all to my phone either wireless, Bluetooth or both. My iPad did connect but when I shut the app down I could not reconnect. Needs fixing. .. lots of reviews are pointing out these problems si it is not just me.. I am tech savvy and I see one guy sorted it by changing his SSID.. this is meant to be a consumer device.. it should work.. it must work out of the box without jumping through hoops.

Perhaps I’m doing something very wrong? Perhaps not.This app certainly does what it says - after about 3 or 4 attempts. The app frequently un-syncs/disconnects itself from the Anova device. I’ve had to reinstall the app twice because it completely failed to sync/reconnect - When it does work it is quite handy - really. I think the app is a nice idea, but in all honesty it’s usefulness really compromised by it’s highly frustrating syncing issues that complicate the sous vide experience; an app should enrich an overall experience not hinder it!On top of the syncing issues the timer more often than not will reset itself, making it rather difficult to cook to ‘precision’.Perhaps with some updates these issues will be fixed, and to be fair to the app it is very simple, has extensive visuals and guides but with very simple in app navigation - and WHEN it works it is a pleasure to use.Sadly however use of the Anova device is just far easier, more practical and involves less hassle and frustration without the app. Set the temperature on the Anova device manually and ask good old Siri to give you a count down. Now there’s something that will never fail...Well, here’s to hoping, anyway.
