I’ve been playing the game for around 8 years, now. It’s highly addictive, if you’re into your music. However, we really need an option to select who we have the chat feature turned on for. Too many people think it’s Tinder and slide into the chat with awful messages and asking for photos. I only want to chat to my actual friends who play the game, but you can only have the chat feature turned on for everyone - we should be able to select which players we want to speak to and have it turned off for the rest. Also, when new people challenge you, they should have to play at least 3 games before they can end the game. I get a lot of new challengers ending the game straight away, as soon as they’ve challenged you and it gets annoying. Overall, the game is good. There is a playlist for everyone. I had to drop a star from the rating due to the issues stated above. Otherwise, it would have been a full 5 stars from me.
Unacceptable EXPLICIT language in a 12+ game

This used to be my favourite game but sadly customer care don’t care about customers / players or the game itself and think rules don’t apply to them. I’ve contacted them and reported tracks which clearly are not suitable and should be removed but no response from them ...ever. Other players have contacted them on this subject, too but when there is a Report Song feature which I have used thousands of times to identify a song which clearly should not be there because of explicit lyrics and they take no action to remove anything EVER, it is very frustrating. SongPop need to decide if they think they are a 17+ game and change the rating accordingly or if they feel for whatever reason they ‘need’ to include tracks with explicit language in a 12+ game they should as I have suggested on so many occasions include an extract WITHOUT explicit language. It is so obvious but they think they can do whatever they want and are answerable to no one and they fail to answer any questions other than saying “We’ll pass your comments on” (or similar) and get back to you / me but never do. The actual game is a lot of fun and addictive, identifying songs and collecting badges and would definitely score it 5/5 and play it daily but will be quitting when I will have mastered a few more playlists. Yes. It’s addictive. I love playing it but because I still care about the game I now find I’m spending more time trying (in vain) to get any response from them and getting annoyed at their failure to take seriously the issue of explicit language.

I originally purchased SongPop (first edition!) many years ago to get rid of adverts from playing the free edition which had ads. Loved it, played it daily. Along came song pop 2 as a free upgrade. I was suspicious at first that it was a way of getting us players to eventually have to buy it again. Unfortunately my suspicions weren’t right, it was worse. They brought out a subscription service but with it a carrot to dangle in front of us, twice a month we could get rewarded for our loyalty by means of playing free for 24 hours after 14 days consecutive play then, if you hadn’t missed a further 14 days you could get 529 whole blissful days of ad free play. This was tedious but I played on. Today (16th December 2018) they’ve updated it again. Instead of getting two days of ad free play you know get 30 minutes! Let’s put this into perspective I pay £8 a month for my sim only contract, for that I get 200 minutes, unlimited texts and 500m data and songpop want me to pay £4 all but a penny for a game monthly. It's just not going to happen. I paid for ad free Song Pop years ago and feel I should still have that game now...and NO If I play the original songpop it doesn’t work ad free it doesn’t work at all now but before IOS 12 it worked but with ads even though it shouldn’t have had them after I ‘upgraded’ to Songpop 2

Okay first I will say that if you love music and testing your music knowledge then this is a very good game but this is all I can say that’s completely positive. The game has a lot of faults first when you don’t pay for VIP you get bombarded with ads to join VIP, the next issue is when you play playlists for example “80s love ballads” you may hear “Everybody hurts” by R.E.M this song was released in 1993 so how can that be an 80s song?. Many other playlists have the same issue with songs that shouldn’t be in that particular playlists, when it comes to artist playlists many fans will get the short end of the stick particularly if you’re a fan of certain artists for example if you’re in the UK you can’t play the Michael Jackson playlist the only way you can is if you’re in another country and ask players if they would help you to complete those playlists, Even if you request playlists on the songpop requests page you’ll more than likely get ignored as many have requested playlists like MJ, Prince, Ozzy Osbourne plus other legendary artists without any of these playlists them being done or available worldwide, except we are stuck with artists that have two or three albums to their names like Rita Ora, Cardi B, Bruno Mars etc none of these artists have extensive album catalogues the size of the latter artists. The Bottom line is FreshPlanet Inc, don’t care about what playlists you want to play as long as you line their pockets. Paying for the VIP has its benefits such as no adverts, you get a little extra time and can pick any playlist however if they did make all playlists available worldwide and make the playlists we requested and not just stick to the current artists from the charts, VIP would be totally worth it but as it stands Its not really worth it.
