I think I may have reviewed this game before more favourably, but honestly my opinion has dropped because the interface is really clunky and off-putting. The game itself has plenty of puzzles, but having since played picross games on other apps I’ve realised how bad this interface is. It’s slow to respond and you have to tap a lot a lot of buttons, whereas with other apps you simply place your finger and drag, and the only tapping is switching between cross and colour. I also don’t like that you can’t change the colour, quite honestly I’m sick of looking at the brown!I’ve found that over time (I’ve been playing since Aug/Sep 2018) I’ve gotten so annoyed with the lack of tokens that I’ve ended up simply logging in once a day to collect them, and then only played occasionally when I fancy a change or run out of tokens on my other puzzle app. I therefore currently have 800 tokens, none of which I’ve paid for, so when I do fancy playing this one I never run out. I do find that I quickly become bored of the interface though, the continuous tapping to select the appropriate function, then the slow response from the puzzle, a lack of response near the edges of the screen and the inability to simply drag and fill. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll continue to play this one tbh, it’s not engaging me enough and I’m spending less and less time on it. But if they improved the interface and modernised the app a bit I’d definitely reconsider.
(This review refers to a significantly older version of the game.)We're sorry to hear you've had a problem. Tapping and dragging is supported in Picture Cross's interface, as well as other control options to suit your prefered playing style. Apologies for any inconvenience.
