Love the app!! Such a great thing to have everyday and the illustrations really help with remembering the words.One thing I would love to see though is some kind of flash card or learning feature to try and learn words in our collections. Then can be an app to properly learn new vocab as just having the words in my collections listed with the definitions doesn’t make it easy to learn them. Simple flash cards that you already have would be great but features similar to quizlet would be amazing! Love the app anyway but find I’ll add words to collections but find it easy to forget about them. Thanks! :)

I’m really disappointed with the complete overhaul of this app. Previously a user could just see that day’s word but now it’s locked behind a patronising scratch card game, and the setting to turn that off is behind a paywall of £8.99 a month. I don’t understand this recent fad to turn everything into a subscription money making scheme. Knowledge should be free. You shouldn’t have to pay to educate and improve yourself, especially with something as fundamental and intrinsic as our language. It’s really disappointing and stops those who don’t have £36 spare from engaging with the content beyond an infantilising game. As such, I’ve deleted the app and will find an alternative. Or just use dictionary (dot) com. There is no shortage of information sources that don’t charge to use them.EDIT: I have been offered by the developers to have the “gamification” setting turned off for free if I contact them. However, this doesn’t address the issue of charging people to access this option in the first place. It shouldn’t take a negative review for companies to address their issues of charging more than Netflix do each month to access education which market alternatives, and dictionaries, provide for free.

Great app but there is always room for improvement! I have some ideas that could make this app so much better!Idea 1: When looking on favourites i forget what word means what so if you could put the definition underneath the word that would make it easier for me!Idea 2: enable a place where you can search for meanings instead of words because this would make it easier to find some of the words.Idea 3: When you are on the main book thing under the definition and example sentence, please add a 3 or 4 words that mean the same this would make it even easier to understand the context of the word!This is an amazing app and i definitely recommend it to anyone who is a writer and needs to extend their vocabulary it's also great if you just want to learn a new word every day please consider my ideas and add them into the app for a 5 star review and a recommendation to all my friends! ADDED 23RD MAY:I love the new wordsearch thing! It makes it so much more fun! It's a great way to practice spelling the words you know! I think, to make it even better than this app always is, you should add a small quiz at the end of the wordsearch quizzing you on what the words from the wordsearch mean! Also, how about adding a crossword too? I absolutely love this app and recommended it to all my friends! Please can you consider adding my new ideas as well as my old ones. No longer works for free users

Every time you click there’s a an ad now for free users, ok, I get that they need to make some money, that’s fine. But when you clear that ad it then tries to make you buy a subscription to go ad free and the little “x” in the top right corner to come off it rarely (if ever) works, making the app completely useless for me as a free user. For this reason, I’ve given 1 star and have uninstalled the app as this unusable issue for free users (on iOS at least) has been going for a few months or so now. Despite iOS being up to date and having uninstalled and reinstalled app multiple times to see if it fixed anything (it did not). However, when the app actually worked well for free users I would have given it 4 maybe 5 stars. Obviously they need to make money and cover costs, I’d just have liked the ability to click off the subscription page to use the free version.
