Description
MediaCell can only be used by invitation and is solely for eligible opted-in participants of Ipsos market research activities.
MediaCell is a market research application which measures what you’ve been watching on TV and listening to on the radio. You will become part of shaping the future of media. Instead of filling in time-consuming and awkward paper diaries to record your media habits, the app does the work for you!
At no point will your individual information be ever shared with our clients, only the averages or aggregated data.
If you have been invited to participate, after installing the app, we’ll send you a unique registration code. Simply enter this code into the app, enable the prompted notifications and keep the app running in the background of the phone, then you are good to go!
In return, you’ll be rewarded with e-vouchers, and the longer you comply with our simple rules, the more rewards you can earn.
The MediaCell app uses the device microphone to listen out for coded audio or to generate digital audio fingerprints to measure the TV or radio stations you are tuned to; it will never record any audio.
Ipsos, as a global market research company, takes very seriously its responsibilities for the security and confidentiality of the information supplied to us by those who take part in the research we carry out. We take every care to ensure that we comply with our legal, regulatory and ethical obligations, including GDPR. We’ll never transfer, sell or distribute your personal information. All data transferred from the mobile device to our servers is encrypted with RSA public/private key encryption before uploading, as well as being transferred over HTTPS. The app can be uninstalled at any time to stop all data collection immediately.

Support not responding
Downloaded and kept on as required for an £8 reward. At the end of the time period I got a notification to fill out the survey, but it failed to load. Kept the app running and contacted support for another survey link but received no response and no reward. Not impressed, despite previous use when I received rewards successfully. It does drain battery significantly.

Hi, apologies for the issues you experienced however, you've posted a review for the wrong app. We believe this was supposed to be for the 'WeLoveMedia' app and not 'Mediacell'. Thanks
Just not worth it !!!!
I was invited to this program and well it’s just not worth it!!!! I set it up and the VPN and it caused issues with Apple update servers I had to uninstall it contact customer service to explain about the VPN issue who told me I had wrong app. I have used the app for weeks and each day I’m having to reset the clock as it stops listening, each time I access my home cctv the app crashes and I have to open the app and start again and each day I get a text saying they did not revive enough date please open app and upload. And remember if they don’t get the data no rewards
I have Contacted customer service who are only bothered about me installing the VPN on my iPad my MacBook and my pc.
It’s not worth it don’t bother. And good luck with customer service they can be sharp in response

i was offered a £20 voucher for the first month and £10 for every month after. i read the reviews before downloading the app and still decided to give it a go thinking ‘maybe it will be different’...it wasn’t. i installed the app and the VPN not even 24 hours ago and have just deleted it all. the app wants to constantly record everything for over a week straight, and the VPN stopped me from updating my apple watch or phone, and i couldn’t open any internet links through social media, i had to use the internet directly. all this in just 12 hours. i dread to think what else it could have done if i kept it installed for longer. super creepy and not worth it.
