Description

iXolr is an off-line reader for CIX Conferencing, one of the first social networking systems. Popular in the UK in the 1990s, CIX is now a quiet backwater on the net.

An off-line reader is like an email client, allowing you to grab the latest messages in a quick burst, then read them off-line at your leisure. It optimises your bandwidth usage, gives you a user experience tailored to the iPad, and lets you work in places where you don’t have a network connection.

You must have a CIX account in order to use iXolr.

Features include:
* Download and read messages, organised by topic and conference
* Threaded message display
* Create new messages and upload them to CIX
* Search messages within a topic
* OAuth security, so you control your password and access
* View and search the directory of all CIX conferences.

What’s New

Version 5.3

A most excellent iPad reader for CIX

As a long term user of CIX I was pleased to see an iPad app to access CIX. What surprised me was how good it is, and how natural it feels to use it. I now access CIX when away from my desktop PC. An excellent addition to online life.

If you are not on CIX, consider joining: it is a small community, mainly from the UK, with high signal to noise ratio discussions.

A tour de force!

The author has managed to replicate almost all the essential features of pc/mac based OLRs in this handy little iPhone app (also works on the iPad but I've not got one...). I find myself using it far more often than I had imagined.

CiX into the future

Brilliant app that brings CiX into the 21st century. Does what it says on the tin without fuss or drama. The writer is very approachable and willing to act on feedback to further improve this impressive app.

Don't know what CiX is? Boy are you missing something?
