Description
Due to limitations in the Safari browser, Kagi cannot be set as your default search engine. Instead, this extension intercepts your request to your default search engine selected in Safari and redirects to Kagi, creating a seamless search experience. It works in Private Browsing as well.
Please note that some requests may still be sent to your default search engine due to this limitation, although the redirect will always be successful.
Kagi search is a quick, user-centric, 100% privacy-respecting search engine with results augmented by non-commercial indexes and personalized searches. It has a clean, high-performance user interface with only the most relevant results and no telemetry, no ads and no collection of private information.

- [Changed] Default is set to all search engines. To limit Kagi redirects to a single search engine, you can select one in the extension popup in Safari. If you previously ran the extension version 2.2.2, if you want to have all searches redirect to Kagi, you can select "All Search Engines" in the extension popup in Safari.

Great after rollback
I understand the difficulties Kagi are facing trying to work within the stupid boundaries apple are forcing upon them but I’m glad this extension at least exists.
It was incredibly frustrating when the new version of the app broke this completely but it’s now seemingly working again, so 👌
Hopefully one day we get a native integration without the need for this workaround
Kagi is the future of search for professionals and knowledge workers
Kagi search has completely replaced all other search engines and AI tools for me. I was hesitant at first to pay for my search engine, but Kagi's features including AI summarisation, lenses, and search result personalisation, combined with there being zero ads or commercially promoted results, is easily worth the small cost.
The Kagi team are also incredible: new features and improvements are coming to the service almost every week, and they are super responsive to feedback and suggestions.
This is the way forward for search.
Working for me
Started using this app around a week ago and its been working great for me so far despite the negative reviews. My understanding is there was a bad update causing those reviews which was them fixed.
It’s been really refreshing to use this new search engine, it seems really good and I’m looking forward to seeing how it improves my life as I use it more.
