Easiest 5 star review ever
This game has taken me from having not a single clue, to being able to play and win on my own merits. Great ui, great sound, fun ai players and best of all, the dev is really helpful and more than happy to answer questions and help with understanding the finer points of the game.
You will be beating those guys in Yakuza before you know it! (Games understand, right?)
Brilliant.
Perfect for a beginner
I knew nothing about how to play riichi mahjong before playing this, but I wanted to learn and heard it had decent tutorials. After playing this for a little while now, I’m having no trouble understanding what’s going on and am already able to recognise several kinds of winning hands.
The art and music are pleasant, with the various AI-controlled characters behaving differently to each other (some easier to beat than others!) so there is some nice variety if you are playing by yourself.
My only major complaint would be the lack of iCloud saving, since my stats between different devices are now separated and it also takes a while to unlock some of the characters.
Teaches and plays great!
I'd never played Mahjong before and by the end of the day I was hooked and had grasped it enough to win some matches. The tutorials are excellent at teaching and the game looks gorgeous and plays really well.
