Since 1949, LFI – Leica Fotografie International has been established as an independent magazine for the field of Leica photography, as well as the renowned go-to publication for anyone wishing to expand their knowledge, understanding and exposure to all things Leica.
Eight times a year, LFI presents the work of leading Leica photographers in extensive portfolio features. The magazine also offers in-depth test reports of new products, insightful technical articles on both digital and analogue photography, practical advice, exclusive reportages, and much more.
The accompanying App enables access to previous LFI issues, selected areas of the LFI Gallery, the LFI Shop as well as continuous updates and news from the world of photography. The LFI Gallery offers photographers from all around the world an opportunity to showcase their best images taken with a Leica camera, while the LFI News section keeps you up-to-date about the latest exhibitions, photography projects and technological innovations.
What’s New
Version 4.0.0
This version of the app offers improved login functionality for our subscribers. Thanks to the new login area, as a subscriber you now have the option of using the subscription with just one access and across devices and platforms.
In addition to the LFI.Gallery and Magazine sections, this version includes a direct connection to the LFI website. This is where the “Stories” are located – a new section that replaces the “News” and “Blog” sections.

Issue viewing magazine in portrait view
iPad 6th gen and in portrait mode can’t see the bottom section of the magazine. It was not an issue with previous version of the app.
Don’t change devices
It’s a great magazine but seriously frustrating when you change platforms as the app doesn’t recognise your details once the subscription has been activated on a previous device. Support just ignored the previous help requests. Which is, y’know… unhelpful.
The best thing about this app...
... is being able to access back issues at the bargain price of 69p! Recent issues are a bit more but still good value compared to the print edition. The magazine is not interactive it's simply an electronic copy of the print edition.
The app itself is rather limited, a section for a gallery and news, most of which you could probably find on the net. It's convenient but nothing special. It's also very sloooooow to load and can crash now and then.
Overall, an average app but the cheap back issues make up for it.
