Live view?
X2D live view for tethered shooting?
Good start
This is a good start for an app and really does enable mobile medium format with just camera and iPad. I’m currently moving my workflow from Lightroom to Phocus on both the Mac and iPad as I prefer the RAW rendering engine.
Few obvious things to improve:
1. Import from SD card - mainly to preserve battery life on camera.
2. Export to 16bit tiff - the desktop app has better export options, and we really need 16bit tiff export on the iPad. Both to edit a quality file after RAW processing, and also for creating archive copies that can be moved off iPad to NAS/Cloud etc.
3. File names - need some options for custom file names, or to retain the raw file name upon import.
The desktop app has a serious focus on photography workflow, and to move on the mobile version also is going to need this same effort.
It does everything it needs to
This app is great, especially with the latest updates. It connects to your camera fast, it allows for remote shooting and live tethered shooting, you can do some basic editing, you can download pictures fast. It’s just great.
