If both a smart phone and a LG device are connected to the same router, you can use your phone as a traditional remote control after a simple connection process.

ProbleMs with Private Sound Mode since iOS 11
Good overall, but since iOS 11 Upgrade, Private Sound Mode cuts out when the screen times out, making it unusable (unless you keep tapping the screen!)
Finally working on iOS 12 and with ‘older’ LG AV ‘Smart’ Receivers
Well after 3 years of incompatible apps, LG have now released a working version. I’d all but given up on being able to control my ‘Smart’ LG 9.1 AV Receiver. I’d only recently reconnected it to the WiFi and by chance download this app and to my surprise it finally works again! 3 Stars for taking years to offer what you sold as a connected device with remote app, which you didn’t support until very recently.
Rubbish and not with IOS 11
Update review Oct 2018. They updated it. Excellent. Works sometimes. Pot luck. Not at all on IOS 11 now. We getting new TV and sound system for Xmas and 2 for new log cabins. Guess what brand we will NOT be getting. That’s right LG. Pointless making a smart tv when apps are rubbish.
