Lively gives you full control of your GIFs with extensive editing features: trim, play backward, auto reverse and speed control. GIF size too big? You can make it smaller too. Last by not least, full 3D Touch support. Gotta press that screen.
Oh, you can pick a single frame from the video part to save. Your child moves right the moment you take the shot? No worry, just grab the right frame from the video. All that, with correct metadata as the original Live Photo.
Lively lets you export for free with a watermark. A single in-app purchase allows you to remove the watermark.
Important: You need an iPhone 6S/6S Plus or above to capture Live Photos. You can still use the app on older iPhone, just get your friends to send you one via iMessage.

Great frame selection facility
This is absolutely excellent! You can extract frame by frame of Live Photos so you can pick the best one...brilliant app 😊👍🏽
Needs work to justify its existence
Nice app, with the best thing about it being that it puts options for video and GIF export directly within the native ‘Photos’ app. Also has some more advanced GIF options than similar apps. however, it limits GIF export resolution to a max of 500px on the long side, where as free apps like LP allow much higher res and produce notably better quality. As those apps also have video export and iOS now has the native ability to extract specific moments as stills, it makes me wonder if Lively has enough to make a premium purchase worthwhile. If the GIF quality was better then having integration with the Photos app would definitely swing it (especially if we could access settings from there too. Not sure if this is possible), but I’ll take a few extra seconds and open a second app for the improved quality. As it is, it’s only the integration with Photos for converting Live Photos to video that means I’m keeping it.
Great until it stopped working
I loved this, I even paid for it. Then suddenly it stopped working properly. The app won’t access my main camera roll anymore. Only favourites & recents and then only the Live Photo’s dated prior to 3 of 4 weeks or so ago. Very strange. I’ve tried updating to the latest version & rebooting my phone. No luck. Really disappointing as it was a great little gif maker prior to this but I can only make gifs out of old photos now....🙁🙁🙁
