Upload data from legacy GPS Devices
LoadMyTracks is a piece of software that will communicate with GPS devices from many manufacturers to send and receive data. It can also be used to translate data between the popular GPX and KML (Google Earth) formats. The software provides support for Waypoints (single locations in space), Routes (lists of waypoints that can be used as instructions of where to go, Tracks (the breadcrumbs that many GPS devices keep to show where you have been) and additional data that may vary by device.
When used in conjunction with Cartographica, our GIS product, you can explore, analyze, and present your tracks and waypoints.
See our site for specifics on which devices are confirmed to work with the current version of LoadMyTracks. Many common Garmin, US GlobalSat, Magellan, and Sony GPS devices are known to work. Serial connections are supported for many models that can't communicate directly over USB (MacOS X-supported serial cable required).
Note that if you are using a device that presents as a file system device (such as some Garmin devices and others), you will need to click the Authorize button and respond to the request for access so that LoadMyTracks can access the file device.

Magellan Explorist 310

This doesn't work with Magellan Explorist 310. It doesn't recognise that the device is connected to your Mac. Drag and drop of gpx file doesn't work either and would be a handy feature. Basically, this app is pretty useless for my product and I am very disappointed as it's the only app which claims to work with Magellan devices. Everything seems to be geared up for Garmin devices, which I find odd when Magellan is a very popular brand in the US. I am based in the UK. It means that i can't put any maps onto my Magellan device unless i revert back to an inferior Windows PC. I made an investment in Apple by buying a Mac only to find that the system lacks app support for common products such as my Magellan GPS. I would be prepared to pay for this app if it was to work well and consistently with my device, so I will check periodically for updates on this app (as it's currently the only one).
compatible devices?

No list of compatible devices on the apple store and it does not work with my Holux rcv-3000
Developer Response
The listing specifically lists Garmin, US MobileSat, Magellan, and Sony devices and references our site that has a complete list of compatible devices.
Works well
Lintonally
I have used it with trailrunner as a helper application and with gpx files for a Garmin Forerunner 305 and it works well. Only one problem, I have been trying to upload a route to the Garmin, rather than a course (the default), but I haven't found a way to do this yet.
Great App

I use this to connect my Garmin Etrex to my Mac via a Serial to USB converter. I had tried various apps to load LOC and GPX files across to the Garmin and was almost on the point of giving up until I found this one. I got great support from ClueTrust to solve some minor issues with my set-up and now it seems to work smoothly and reliably in both directions.
