Description

View and log your dives on the go. Detailed profiles, images, Smart Bluetooth downloads and more.

We've brought the best features of MacDive for macOS to your pocket. MacDive for iPhone can be used as a fully featured standalone dive log, and it also works great in conjunction with MacDive for macOS.

• Browse and manage your dive logs on the go.
• Use iCloud or Dropbox to keep your data in sync between your iPhone and MacDive for macOS.
• Automatic dive site tracking via GPS. Put your iPhone in your dry bag and worry about the details when you're back on land!
• Native downloads from supported Smart Bluetooth devices.
• Catalogue and identify the critters you've seen, or the ones you want to find.
• Manage your gear and let MacDive remind you when a service is due.

MacDive supports downloading dives directly from various Smart Bluetooth devices, like the Shearwater Perdix AI and Teric, Suunto D5 and EON Steel, Scubapro G2, Mares Genius and Bluelink, Heinrichs Weikamp OSTC and the Dive Nav DC Buddy (sold separately). See our website for a full list of devices.

Please note that continued use of Location Tracking/GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Brilliant for Mac/iPhone logbooks

If you have a compatible dive computer (most DCs with data are) a Mac (any) and an iPhone this is terrific. Upload from the DC to the Mac, make notes in the Macdive app on there, press the sync button (or wait 'till it goes itself- defaults to 30 min or every time you open it!). Then when you open the app on your iPhone it syncs (you can use Dropbox or iCloud for synced storage). It's like magic, and your photos go too (jpeg, don't try raw images they don't work and use ++space)

The amount of logged information depends(as always) on what you choose to put in, and sync works both ways so notes on the phone sync back to the Mac- the issue is data transfer from the DC. ( Bluetooth devices are available, I haven't tested any!)

4 not 5 stars because I'm not over keen on the display format, I prefer Dive Log, but that is 4 because this syncs better! Love them both really!

Seamless transfer of dives from OSTC computer

I was delighted with how easy it was to upload my dives from the DC. Just put it in Bluetooth mode and checked the phone was seeing it. Then I hit ‘import’ and selected my DC - all done.

I am a little suspicious of the persistence of the connection between my iPhone and the DC (too persistent?). I left the app running in the background for a week with the DC in the same room and the DC battery went flat. I’m going to watch the DC this week and make sure the App is not running. I’ll edit this review if I get more information.
