Description
The Macs Adventure app makes it easy to relax and enjoy your self-guided adventure with easy-to-use maps, detailed route descriptions and your detailed trip itinerary.
Login with your Macs account details to access:
- Detailed daily trip itinerary covering all the elements of your Macs trip - accommodation, activity, luggage transfer, equipment hire, and transfer information.
- Outdoor maps with daily route descriptions, elevation profile and a visual track to follow for each day of your adventure - all downloadable for offline use. Simply follow the blue line and track your location using the orange marker. Use ‘Start route’ to track your progress along the trail and get notified if you take a wrong turn, and when you’re near your booked accommodation.
- And once you’ve finished your day, get a summary of your daily distance travelled, rate your route, and share with your friends and family on social media.
Each downloadable walking or cycling track includes: Macs grading, duration, distance, elevation profile, total elevation gain and loss, a detailed description, directions, including in most cases, detailed turn-by-turn directions, points of interest and your accommodations marked on the map, plus images.
Your daily itinerary means you have all the info for your trip without needing to carry heavy paperwork. It includes a detailed day-by-day itinerary, daily overview, overnight accommodation details with contact and reservation details, transfers and luggage transfer details with pick-up and drop-off details, equipment hire details, directions to accommodations and services, reservation and confirmation numbers.
A little note:
- Continued use of GPS to track your location can run your iPhone battery life down. We suggest you take a power bank with you for back-up, particularly on longer distances, or where the app will be your only means of navigation.
- This app is designed for iPhone. GPS is required for the app to give accurate location and navigation information during your Macs trip, without the need for a data connection. Please note that only iPads with WiFi + Cellular feature contain a GPS chip.

Offline maps not really offline
The app gives you the option to download offline maps to use where you do not have 4g or 3g. But to open the map you need to go through screens where it needs 4g or 3g so basically you cannot really reach the offline map. I wonder if any of the developers ever used this app on top of the mountain where you need it most.

Hi Klingon88, thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. Whilst the maps and itinerary can be downloaded and accessed offline with no mobile signal, there are some areas of the map which do require a data connection at present. We are have reviewed the core sections of the app needed for on-trip information and for navigation to ensure that as much information is available offline as possible, and that it's much easier to access this info too. We will be releasing changes to this in the coming months. We hope you get opportunity to try out our improvements on another Macs trip in future.
Wrong maps 🫤
I’m sure this app is a great benefit but unfortunately the wrong route has been loaded to my profile, I’m journeying this weekend but I’m now going to be unavailable to use the app, as thus far no one is responding to me via email.
I will obviously update this review if I get provided the correct maps but otherwise it’s a pointless app in its present state.

Totally inaccessible
Since the overnight update we are unable to access our trip data. Thanks Macs. One of the reasons we booked was to have all the info to hand. Can’t even log in to your website says email and password incorrect.

Hi, thanks for your feedback. We did have some early teething problems when the app first launched, but these were quickly resolved and many of our customers have been enjoying the app throughout the season. We hope you have another opportunity to try the app out with us again soon.
