Does what it says on the tin

This is a really useful app that will generate a wide range of cross stitch patterns and can be used for tapestry too with a change of scale. It means that I can generate my own original projects rather than use kits. It is expensive which is why I have given it 4 stars. The coding of thread colour is excellently done but the estimation of amounts is way off. I have used about twice as much thread as told in the chart. Anyway, thank you for an ingenious app which has enriched my craft projects

Five star app would include

Option for metric or imperial measurements, at the moment it’s imperial only.
Glossary, because it couldn’t hurt.
And not crashing or freezing if i happen to leave the app for any reason. This is the most frustrating part.

Also, it’s extremely difficult to set the sliding bar at the desired value. For example, in the last two minutes i havent been able to set the desired number of colours. Manual input window would be very handy. Or at least arrows at each end of the bar, which can be tapped to increase or decrease value in 1 point increments.

Also, is there a way to shop quickly for the colours in the pattern? Correct me please, but i cant seem to and have to do it manually one by one🤔

I’ve been updating this review as i go and it’s been more and more frustrating by the minute.
I was so happy to discover this app as it seemed ideal, but i havent been able to finish editing a single project. And it keeps crashing and freezing, did i mention that?

I’ve subscribed for a paying option, but with all these shortcomings, i’m far from convinced. £6 a month doesn't justify it.

We're working right now on a big update where we plan to include the option to type need size and a number of colors (not just sliding bar) and a guide of how to use the app in the most efficient way.

App review and improvements

I love this app when I have a photo to convert. It is easily adjusted to a size and colour you're happy with. It zooms brilliantly and you can colour in your progress.

As an improvement though it would be fantastic to be able to create a pattern from scratch or start with a photo and edit the pattern if you want to. I have created a pattern from an image but had to adjust the pattern ad hoc myself when sewing to make it better.
