Inconsistent distance and pace

I have been using mmr for several years and loving it but hate the recent update- I now have to run between one and two km further than I used to do to achieve my 10k. I do the same run every time, one direction until 5km then turn round and run back. This 5km point changes by quite a large margin every day! Then when I get towards the end the 10k point is now always somewhere different too but always further than where it was :-( I run on a winding path through woods - maybe that’s the problem. The pace report is often inaccurate now too, All quite disappointing and frustrating. Apart from that I like the way the app functions

Free version good ....Premium not so good

I have been using map my run for years, and I have recently signed up for a half marathon in a few months time. I decided to take the plunge and pay for premium of Map my Run and it was the biggest mistake I’ve made. Two reasons:
1) Although you can custom what pace you would like to run at for the marathon, the plan initially starts off at a slower pace ‘to build up mileage’. After running this significantly slower pace, I was getting inpatient so scrolled ahead to see when it speeds doesn’t get any quicker until the actual DAY OF THE RACE - when it expects you to run 1.5 minute per km quicker. I’ve decided to scrap the plan and have annoyingly found it incredibly hard to get back to my initial pace after wasting a month on this plan.
2) For such a reputable brand you would think they would have someone to double check their calendar feature of the plan. The days of the week and the actual date aren’t in sync so instead of 20th being a Wednesday, the app thinks it’s a Thursday. Obviously a minor thing, but nonetheless embarrassing this has gone unnoticed for the app.

Overall I’m really disappointed with the paid version of the app, far better plans out there. MY ASICS RUN do good free customised plans, so will stick to them. A real shame because I had initially loved Map my Run for years.

Disfunctional - no longer fit for purpose

I have used this app for years but now they have introduced a new rule whereby if you are in the UK and have your Apple Watch set to Uk It no longer functions correctly. It shows you the miles run but does all alerts in km so I get a 0.62 mile alert (at 1km) and so on. This is new. Having contacted help they suggest I fix their broken app by changing my watch to think it’s in the US, this messing up countless other apps. Ridiculous. Like I say it used to work well but recently it’s not fit for purpose. I’m also sick of the endless updates that set all my settings back to default yet make no discernible improvements. Lots of suggestions made but it never really gets better. I guess it’s time to change to strava. I’d been reluctant to do so because the unkind MMR team don’t make it easy to export data that includes maps. But you know what… maybe I don’t need them.

Update post developer comment! They don’t even read their reviews properly. They ask me to “submit a ticket” when I’ve clearly stated that I already have and that their response was ridiculous (set my watch to think it’s elsewhere to fix their broken app… I don’t think so)
