This app is brilliant.
After prompt developer response it turns out I missed satellite view which was in settings. Still think the ability to map walks would be a lovely touch rather than just the start and end points but the overall package as it exists right now is worth 5 star.
Original review. The ability to make maps that are personal and important to the user is just great. To be able to share with others is even better. It’s a great concept and I’m really enjoying using it. For a full five stars the ability to view satellite and to map walks would make this app a market leader. Please do keep up the good work.

You can choose the satellite view on your app settings in your profile in the left menu
And you can map the walks’ starting point if you want to !

Been using Mapstr for a couple of years now. Brilliant app, so handy for travelling. However, recently I started it using on an iWatch. It worked perfect to start with but lately, has stopped working. Have done everything apple and the developers recommend (restart, delete and re-install etc etc) and it still won’t load. Just cuts out every time I load it up on the iWatch, but works fine on the phone. Have spoke to some friends who use it and they have had the same issue. Any ideas how to get around this as I’m going away this weekend and would live to be able to use it instead of having to walk around with my phone in my hand??

Great app
It's not often I find an app that hits the nail on the head but it's app is perfect. I used Trello and Notes before to remember all the places, mostly bars and restaurants that I want to go to or have been. I tried Google Maps as well, but the clarity of the pins is so much clearer on this map. The addition of tags with filters is genius. The list view looks great too. The "notify when close" feature is also great as it will hopefully remind me to check the map when I'm looking for places to eat or drink.
