MealBoard - Meal Planner 17+

I’ve been using MealBoard for several years now, and I can’t say enough about how useful it is for meal planning, grocery shopping, pantry maintenance and cooking. It is so complete in how it addresses all four of these areas and links them; and there are so many useful features and customisation options. I love the fact that the app will suggest recipes based on expiry dates you enter, which helps cut down on food waste. A big plus for me is that the developer is always making updates and improvements and adding new features. Like a previous reviewer, when I am researching new apps I always check the last time an update was made, to see whether the app is “cared for”. I can personally vouch for MealBoard improvements, because a couple of my own suggestions have been added over the years! Being completely objective, I would say that the app is starting to look a little tired and could use a bit of a refresh. But given how indispensable this app is to me, I don’t want that to sound like a complaint. It is well deserving of five stars. I wish that Apple would promote this app and give it the wider audience it deserves.

I wanted an app to help me keep up some of the good habits I’d picked up from the ZOE programme (storing recipes I enjoy, planning ahead and limiting shopping to once a week) - this app was exactly what I needed. As well as importing recipes from other sites and presenting them in a handy standard way while making meals, I can now plan out all the meals for the week on a simple calendar and share them across all my devices (and my family’s devices too).

I don’t usually enjoy food shopping but using this app has made it much more bearable.. maybe even a bit fun! All the ingredients needed to make the week’s recipes appear in a single shopping list organised into the aisles you’ll find things in. It takes a bit of extra effort to set up the pantry feature but once you do, the app works out just the things you need to buy because you don’t already have them.
Excellent work by the developer and purchasing the full version feels like a bargain considering how much time and effort I’m saving. Thank you!

I’ve been using this app for almost 10 years now. I used to run a small catering company from home and can’t imagine how I would’ve organised my shopping lists without it. It saved me many hours of work every week.
Nowadays I just use it for personal use. Yet still it saves me hours of meal planning and creating shopping lists. I can also email a shopping list to my husband.
It’s very customisable meaning I’ve created my own catogories, meal types, shopping aisles etc.
The best thing about this app is that it is constantly being updated with new features. Over the last 10 years, it’s become more and more user friendly. The import recipe function has improved to the point that taking a recipe from online is a 60 second job meaning if I’m scrolling and find something that peaks my interest, it’s saved and being served on the table in no time. Don’t hesitate. It will change your life.
