Merseyflow Quick Pay 4+

Unfortunately this app seems to have not understood the problems with the current payment system. I have been traveling to Liverpool fairly frequently over the past few years. I tend to pay for 10 crossings at a time and work my way through them over the next few months. I am often to be found trying to get an internet connection in a service station on the M6 to check if I am still in credit. The main problem with the website is that you need to enter an FJ number along with your car registration in order to find out how many crossings you have in hand. This means hunting through email to find the last payment confirmation and then annoyingly this long number cannot be copied as it appears as a link. If you then need to top up you need to enter all your payment details. This is pretty laborious on a slow connection.
When I first tried out this app I was full of optimism. It just asked for my car registration. I typed it in expecting it to tell me how much credit I currently have, but no, it just asks me how many crossings I want to pay for. How do I know that if I don’t know how much credit I have already. Sorry but it has missed the point completely. When you develop an app you should start by talking to your customers. Clearly this has been speced by someone who is not a user of the service. Let me know when you have worked it out and I might try again.

This app is supposed to prevent all the faffing about calling and going through automated call pressing options that don’t apply to you. Speaking to an agent isn’t any better as it’s time consuming monotone and dreadful experience. The app is no use for it’s purpose either over a week deleting the app and re-downloading it to reset it from my end and agents end still doesn’t work after changing passwords it continues to not give me access as says the is already an account or email registered to these details 🙄 Complete waste of my time and going back and forth around in circles with agents i recommend not use it at all for what it’s worth. For this i give the app less than 1 for its practicality.

When did ‘autopay’ become, pay in advance? It’s a scam app from a scam company. Everything g about the rats that run the bridge is fraudulent. From the lies they told residents about the toll only being in place until the cost of construction was complete, to allowing just 12 hours to pay and them massively reducing the number of payment options. The fact is they don’t want to be paid for crossings, they make far, far more money in fines and so they have deliberately complicated what should be a very simple process. They have been reported to their regulator for defrauding customers by literally thousands of people but they get away with it, it’s not what you know it’s who. Awful company.
