Action RPG: Moonshades 12+

Great gem of a game

After months of Lockdown playing all my usual games and being raped of all my hard work by new wallet whales with nothing better to do, so I gave up on them. I was looking for a different game but all looked exactly the same just either war, zombies or dragons. Then I found Moonshades by accident, read the reviews and also the developers notes. I was greatly surprised by how good this game is and I am hooked. The developer listens to feedback and actually responds back not an auto response like nearly every game I have played on mobile. Good luck and well done to him, this is so so good and still getting better. Keep up with the brilliant work :0)) Thank You

It takes you back in the good AND the bad!

The game brings you back to the early years of digital dungeon explorations with first person view and underground dungeons. Thats all for the positive things, assuming you like that sort of stuff otherwise forget this game entirely.... on the bad side theres a lot to say.... starting from the extremely small inventory and storage space, youll get a crapload of items you have no idea what to use for and quickly youll be full of stuff and youll have to sacrifice something but you will only know much later in the game what is junk and what is really useful.... thats only the beginning! The game is VERY badly developed and more then once if youre unlucky you risk to get stuck because you use an item in limited supply such a key or a potion that you cannot get back so you are forced to either farm endlessly or like me now, you are unable to go on and be irreversibly stuck! Not hard to design a game like this that works really so im glad this is not your main job and i suggest you stick to something else and hopefully be better at it.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. You can increase your storage space by completing in-game quests, or with free gems from the story dungeons and the Arcane Dungeons. You can get gems from the achievements as well if you don't want to buy it. If it is still not enough for you then I am sorry. There is some kind of misunderstanding here, you cannot sell or destroy important items like keys or quest items. Good game, let down by frustrating monetization strategy

The game itself is quite fun. I like the core concept of a first person dungeon crawler ala Eye of the Beholder with almost arcade like touch controls and cooldown timers. Works nicely.

However, a BIG part of this game is crafting and you are flooded with component parts to keep track of and combine together into yet further component parts and eventually actually useful items. I pretty much hate this style of gameplay at the best of times but what makes it particularly infuriating in this game is that inventory space is what the developer has monetized through IAPs… so you VERY quickly run out of inventory space to lug around or store all your goblin eyes, coloured shards and endless runic doohickeys.

You can, of course, buy expanded inventory space (and devs are well within their rights to charge money for their creations!) but looking at the number of purchasable inventory slots and the sheer amount of crud needed for the crafting system, I imagine it will get well beyond the $5-10 or so I’d happily pay out for a title like this.

My conclusion? Same as it’s been for years. IAPs are a bad business model for both honest devs and consumers. Just charge a one off fee for your game and let’s all get on with our lives! :/

You can get 1500+ free gems from achievements and from the Arcane Dungeons. You can also find 2000+ free gems at the story dungeons. And you can get them from ads as well.
