What an absolutely lovely hotel. Great location with wonderful personal service. Fabulous bedroom overlooking the garden and cosy sofa area to relax. It was perfect for a night away. Gave us time to explore Bath and enjoy a pretty delicious cocktail on the terrace before dinner. Definitely recommend. However being made aware of the difference in car parking and room price for those who didn't book directly was a little intrusive. We are staying with you and loving your hotel, don't make us feel different.

We stayed for three nights and were a bit disappointed. The junior suite is excellent in size, but does not quite have the service to match. Generally the staff are friendly and helpful but the exterior facilities are quite tired, and in particular the two pools both need serious cleaning enhancements. They were dirty and also in need of repair. Similar some of the garden areas were below par with debris and broken glass around, and not cleared up when we mentioned it to reception. The whole place seemed under occupied (is it badly missing Russians and Ukrainians?) and the ease of getting away to the town or the nearby islands is an offsetting benefit. There are some excellent off site restaurants around, though some are super expensive, but some are very good value, with access from D resort only feasible by boat. The spa facility is excellent but for a sunny short break it seemed almost superfluous to the average visitors needs.We did not book through Mr and Mrs Smith, (but as part of a BA package)but our booking details at the hotel did have us as Mr and Mrs S clients, which is odd. We did get a tiny irrelevant local souvenir.

As lovely as it always is to get home, it was with a heavy heart that Chris and I left The Moorings yesterday morning. We had the most wonderful weekend in this gem of a hotel. Matthew and Iselin are generous, thoughtful and excellent hosts, who have created a stunning, happy, peaceful haven on Gorey pier. Our room looked out over the pretty little harbour and was extremely comfortable - soft, sleep-inducing beds, beautiful, calming furnishings and a great bathroom with a large bath (and shower). We had dinner in the inviting and relaxing restaurant twice and could not have enjoyed the exceptional food more, nor the delicious cocktails in the elegant and relaxing bar. The staff were, without exception, delightful and made both evenings thoroughly enjoyable … and filling!Above all, the generous and affable characters of Matthew and Iselin pervade every aspect of The Moorings. They are utterly charming and work extremely hard for their guests, while remaining calm and efficient at all times and are never without a smile. Hats off to them for creating such a wonderful, welcoming, beautiful hotel. Needless to say, we much look forward to returning soon and could not recommend this lovely hotel highly enough.

I booked two rooms to celebrate my daughter’s 19th birthday as we planned to visit the Moulin Rouge. A simple double for my daughter and a deluxe with balcony for us. The rooms are beautifully designed and perfectly located in a fabulous courtyard. We were not disappointed. Our rooms had half bottles of Chablis on arrival a very nice touch due to the generosity of Mr & Mrs Smith. Our deluxe room had a coffee machine and kettle but we didn’t use it often as there was complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge downstairs . Also afternoon tea served every day between 4pm and 6pm. The staff are amazing and kindly helped us with many queries. Loved every minute and would definitely book again it’s a little gem!!
