MSG files are often generated by the PC version of Microsoft Outlook. This proprietary format is easily read on other PCs, but it is unrecognisable on Macs - even if you are using Microsoft Outlook for Mac or Apple Mail. MSG Viewer for Outlook works like magic by converting the unrecognisable format into the email that your friend or coworker intended to send you - and it all happens in a split second.
With this easy-to-use program, you'll be able to open all of those MSG files seamlessly in your favourite Mac email clients. Batch processing and conversion of Outlook MSG contacts (.vcf) is also supported.
The free version only converts selected portions of the MSG file. The licensed version (available via in-app purchase) activates all features, including complete conversion of MSG files and batch processing.

Careful
It's not clear if this file is sent somewhere to open, as Littel Snitch immediately notified me of a connection when i dropped a file there.
It only partially opens the file, then the In App purchase notices start. This is not the right way to get an attachment from inside a msg file.

Thanks for your concern. Privacy is extremely important to us -- conversion is 100% performed locally on the machine. The only data that is sent via network has to do with usage analytics, update checks, and license verification. You can feel free to block the connection with L/S if that is a concern. The free version only has limited conversion, but the paid version converts the full file.
worth the 5 stars
i quite often get asked to convert msg so a client can read them thats on a mac too. I used it on one file and it worked..it converts to eml which outlook opens even with attachments so i bought it and converted approx. 30 files in bulk...saved me getting the windows machine out and saved me about an 1hour of converting things to PDF plus aatachments etc.... happy customer, thank you.
Worked great. I used it as a standalone app
I declined incorporating this app with my Mail client and didn't download the plugin from the web as it suggested. Instead I kept it as a standalone app which I can drag and drop the .msg file onto. It works great and creates a .eml file which I can then open and save if necessary. The plugin might work great but I decided I didn't need the risk/hassle.
