About World Wildlife Fund

For nearly 60 years, WWF has worked to help people and nature thrive. As the world’s leading conservation organisation, WWF works in more than 100 countries. At every level, we collaborate with people around the world to develop and deliver innovative solutions that protect communities, wildlife, and the places in which they live.

People are at the centre of everything we do. WWF works to help local communities conserve the natural resources they depend upon, transform markets and policies toward sustainability, and protect and restore species and their habitats. Our efforts ensure that the value of nature is reflected in decision-making from a local to a global scale. WWF connects cutting-edge conservation science with the collective power of our partners in the field, more than one million supporters in the United States and five million globally, as well as partnerships with communities, companies, and governments.

Today, human activities put more pressure on nature than ever before, but it’s also people who have the power to change this trajectory. Together, we can address the greatest threats to life on this planet and protect the natural resources that sustain and inspire us.

Great app

This is exactly what I've been looking for. It makes it really easy to track all the things I'm doing to help the planet and there are some things in here I'd never thought of.

Great, but biased lies!

This app is great for setting targets for yourself and maybe doing something you didn’t consider before, which you can then mark your achievements & adopt an endangered animal in the process, which has all been fun for my grandson & I.
But the ‘Carbon Calculator’ does not ask if you have offset any of your own Co2 use, nor is specific enough with the family home & vehicle section. My result was “wrong by 51%”, and I’m fed up with incorrect information being rammed down my throat with “you are a bad person. Look what you have done to the planet!”.
If you all keep telling people they are harming the planet with high figures, then they find that they were ‘Lied To’, they loose trust, and we MUST not allow that to happen in this battle against climate change.
Further, in the results graph, there’s; Your footprint, UK footprint & the Global footprint, which was tiny in comparison to the UK!
I’m not a Boris fan, but the UK is doing a great deal more than most of the big polluters, with huge investment per capita, that not even every European country is doing. So please don’t trash our country 🇬🇧 for trying & instead encourage every individual.
Lastly; I’m so disappointed that WWF falls into this bracket of disinformation & twisting figures to make certain circumstances appear better just for the cause of the moment. By doing this, that makes you no better than some politicians and everyone knows how much politicians are trusted.

Predictable waste of donor funds from WWF

WWF is a super-rich mega-charity wasting millions of valuable donor dollars annually on naive, academic-run, misguided projects around the world, while smaller, genuinely impactful charities are starved of funding. Dinosaurs like WWF waste billions on themselves while wildlife is massacred toward extinction: Mountains of pointless reports, endless five-star international conferences, cycles of pointless workshops, fleets of luxury cars, shameful executive wage bills, corruption-fuelling ‘allowance’ handouts, naive academic-run law enforcement programs, and pointless apps like this. What they are incredible at is marketing (for yet more money to feed the machine) and occasional political influence. An app like this can never be great as it comes from a super-rich pro-meat-eating, pro-hunting megacharity. In the last 60 years they’ve been operating over 60% of the planet’s wildlife has been destroyed. WWF is a big part of the problem their app purports to highlight. Donors need to wise up or our environment is doomed.

PS. WWF’s teams of aggressive high-paid lawyers will doubtless remove this soon!

Developer Response ,

WWF has been at the forefront of global efforts to protect wildlife and the natural world for nearly 60 years.

During that time, we’ve secured vital victories for our planet as we and our partners have led the way in protecting numbers of iconic wild species, including rhinos, gorillas and tigers; won protection for vital habitats which people and wildlife depend on; embedded sustainability into mainstream business and helped start a transformation in the way forests and fisheries are managed; and pushed issues like climate change, sustainable development and the illegal wildlife trade up the international agenda, holding governments and businesses to account, to secure action for our planet.
