My Starkey 12+

When it works, the app is fairly useful. It allows you to select settings for different environments -crowd, meeting etc - but it is very inconsistent and keeps dropping out for no apparent reason. Occasionally I get a ‘please restart’ message but nowhere can I find the means to do so. As a result I end up deleting the app, reloading it and then going through the rigmarole of setting it up again. Very frustrating and needs a lot of work

So much promise, so badly implemented. Worst part are that it constantly (every minute) crashes - making it largely unusable. Even when working, the interface is designed without a thought for the wearer… switching profiles is clunky and requires multiple clicks (why “professional” settings are prioritised over “custom” - the ones you want to use frequently like TV, Outdoors etc - is anyone’s guess). Then there are the random inconsistencies, for example the in-ear voice for custom profiles is different to the profiles for professional profiles. Again, why?
Lastly, the Smart Control is nigh on pointless, allowing very limited control of the aids only - it would be far more “smart” if it integrated Alexa for example.

For an app that’s essential and central to getting value from Starkey devices, it’s woefully subpar. Use it (you have no choice) but don’t rely on it.

Changed hearing aids to Starkey Gensis AI 1600. Downloaded the app for more personal control. App is a disaster. Keeps changing settings regularly and no way to control direction of hearing eg. All Round, forward, and directional. When balance set to left and right it changes settings itself. Also no scale for volume when increasing each ear. Used the Thrive hearing app with the Evolve AI 1200 and that app worked perfectly. Also bluetooth for streaming is a non starter as sound keeps breaking up. Why can’t we have Thrive App for these hearing aids. Starkey have made forward leaps in the hearing aids but unfortunately have not applied their technology to this app.
