Is this a joke app?

Tanita produce very high quality and expensive scales for serious weight monitoring and provide an app that makes real tracking very difficult. It looks as though digital is just an afterthought for Tanita but this is not true of the users who bought connected scales. I and they want digital outcomes. And a less shonky always on Bluetooth connectio. On my cheap Chinese current, failing but accurate enough, scales, I can see immediately if I’m losing fat water or muscle. I need to know this. Tanita gives you poorly labelled graphs and the data is not easy to track ! People want the data not pretty but useless waves without data points. A list showing the changes would be so much more useful. You can print out a full reading with more data but the point of digital is that you shouldn’t need paper. I’m appalled at how bad this is. The high cost of Tanita scales should mean they can invest in a good app interface, and learn from the cheaper scales that do better with their apps in some respects.

Works ok but info display is very poor

Unlike others, I’ve had no problems connecting or using the app. My problem is that the interface is difficult to read - data is badly presented, and to answer the simple question “how much weight have I lost this month?” I need to click about four times and remember the figures in my head.

Coming from the Fitbit Aria, where similar data is presented as a simple list, this is disappointing, to say the least.

Presenting the data as a series of charts, as this app does, might look good (YMMV) but it’s not easy to use. It’s particularly irritating as the scales themselves (rd953) are excellent.

Many years ago I owned the non-smart version of the scales, and the only irritating thing about that was the need to scribble down the data results and then put them into a spreadsheet. The fact that I have to effectively do the same thing with this scale - by exporting them as a pdf and then feeding the data into a spreadsheet- is a pretty damning verdict on the interface of this app. It could be so much better, but right now it’s too much style, not enough substance.

Great scales, poor app

Like other people have said, the scales are great but this new app design is awful. It might look pretty with a nice wavy line to indicate your weight and other stats over time but that's it, you can no longer tap the graph to get specific details on a particular measurement. I now have to go into the results section and compare the individual readings.

Please Tanita make this app better by presenting all the data in the graph and also so that it's easy to compare current weight to last week, last month or last year.

I can't believe you've created scales that generate so much useful data and then thought to make an app which disregards most of it.
