My Truphone: eSIM travel data 4+

Do Not Use This Service

I downloaded the app and used their eSIM for a 10 day holiday. The eSIM defaults to autorenew which is very subtle in their checkout process (it should be opt in, not opt out). The app then almost immediately started crashing and nothing I can do (delete, reinstall etc) gets it to work. I am now getting charged monthly for an eSIM I used once while on holiday with no way to cancel it. All advertised TruPhone email accounts no longer work (ask@, csm@) and because the take the money neither as an Apple subscription nor a bank standing order/DD you cannot cancel it through you payment provider. This is a very clever con to extract as much money from people while they figure out how to delete their auto-renew subscription. Reported to Apple, and to my Bank!

Absolutely dreadful.

I paid for 3GB of data for 30 days, but the LTE service was so slow that it was virtually unusable- as is apparent from the fact that I seem to have used a grand total of next to nothing leaving me with sound 2800 mg unused. Please note this at a time when every other sim card was providing 4G, so the very poor speed is not about the local service. Also not only does this service not provide a phone number but they prevent you from using a VOIP service. No Skype, no Viber.
To add insult to injury I did get replies to my inquiries for support, not one of those replies seemed to bear any relationship to the question I asked.

A revolution when travelling or needing more data

This is more than an app - it enables you to load an e-SIM to your iPhone. Some quick searching online will show you how useful this is.
I used Truphone while I was in the USA for four weeks. My U.K. provider offers included USA roaming data but the speeds are slow and barely useable. With Truphone I was able to do everything I needed at full 4G speed! It made life so much easier and I would highly recommend! I will be using it again for other countries.
