So confusing!

Ok. So I am sure my employer uses this vendor, as their name and logo appear on the Web portal I can log in to and see my payslips, all that. But on the App Store there are (at least) two apps that look like they belong to this platform (plus a zillion others that match the search “epayslip” - what a good idea that was!) But neither of these apps recognise me, and they refer to ‘reference numbers from your payslip’ or ‘if your employer has subscribed to this service’. This is pointless - these days it should be *trivial* to find and use an app for a service you already use on the Web (that’s the case for every financial product I use, for example).

Is this legal?

When logging in to view my payslips I’m told that I have to pay £1.99 for a 1 year subscription to see them. This is outrageous and surely it must not be legal to charge for access to payslips.

I’ve seen other reviews mention the same problem. The developer response seems to go along the lines of ‘well we send you email copies as well so this is all legal’. The only problem is I can’t find these email copies. The only emails I can find from this company are monthly emails letting me know my latest payslip is available online and comes attached with instructions on how to log in.

AVOID THIS PAYROLL COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. PAYROLL IS NOT HARD AND THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER COMPANIES THAT DO THIS WITHOUT RIPPING OFF YOUR STAFF!!

Developer Response ,

Hi,
If your company has paid for a myIRIS payslip portal then you will receive an email with attached instructions on how to register and retrieve your payslip (or other payroll documents) from that web portal. That is free, and at that point you can choose to download any payslips (or other documents) you wish to keep from the web portal. If you leave that company at a later date you are given a 90 day grace period (from your employment leaving date) in which to download any of those documents for free from the web portal. Once that grace period has lapsed you will be directed to use the app where you will need to pay the small subscription fee to access your documents - the payslip/document was free at the point it was issued and what we charge is to cover the secure storage costs for these documents.

If your employer has not paid for a myIRIS web portal then you should be receiving a copy of your payslip attached to the email that has been sent to you. This is a full, free, payslip but it contains all the details you would need to register for the myIRIS app should you decide to do that. If you register using the details on that payslip you automatically start a free 3 month trial of access via the app. Once that trial period has expired, you will be prompted to sign up for the subscription if you wish to have continued access. If you are not getting that email containing your free payslip (at the time it was issued) then please speak to your employer.

I hope that clears up any confusion regarding this query, if you have any other questions please feel free to drop us an email at support@my-iris.co.uk.

Have to change password every month.

It is complete and utter useless, I have to change my password every month, and still I can’t see my payslips, just a grey screen, bring back paper payslips any day, I think it’s an infringement on our civil liberties to not be able to receive, retrieve or have a paper copy of our payslips, this website needs a major overhaul, even 1 ⭐️ is way to much, would’ve given it a minus score if I could, this has been going on every month for 6 months now.

Developer Response ,

Hi,
If you're still having issues viewing your payslips or having to change password then please drop us an email at support@my-iris.co.uk with your details and we'll investigate it.
