Description

Introducing the intelligent contraceptive app. Natural Cycles is a hormone-free method of contraception that learns your unique cycle. The app identifies ovulation by analysing your basal body temperature which you should measure when you wake up. Natural Cycles is for women over the age of 18. Natural Cycles does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).

Natural Cycles is only available as a method of contraception in the USA and Europe. In countries outside the USA and Europe, Natural Cycles is intended to be used as a fertility tracker. The app also integrates with the Apple Health App.

Natural Cycles is 93% effective under typical use, which means that 7 women out of 100 get pregnant during 1 year of use.* Natural Cycles is 98% effective with perfect use. No method of contraception is 100% effective, even when using the app perfectly you can still have an unintended pregnancy.

You must have a subscription to be able to use the app. A free demo mode is available showing how the app works.

Natural Cycles shows you:
○ How your unique cycle works
○ Daily updates on where you are in your cycle
○ When you are in the fertile phase of your cycle and need to use protection (e.g. condoms)
○ When your ovulation is detected and predicted
○ When your period is coming up and when you can expect PMS
○ The science behind your menstrual cycle

Natural Cycles is:
○ The first and only contraceptive app available in both the USA and Europe
○ Backed by scientific research
○ CE marked & FDA cleared

The app supports syncing with Apple Health.

Pricing Plans:
Yearly plan: 49.99 GBP/year. Free thermometer included.
Monthly plan: 6.99 GBP/ month. Thermometer not included.

To use the intelligent app you need a two-decimal basal thermometer.

Precautions:
○ Natural Cycles’ effectiveness as a contraceptive is not affected by fluctuating temperatures and/or irregular cycles (i.e. cycles shorter than 21 days or longer than 35 days). However, you will experience an increased number of red days as predicting fertility is more difficult in these circumstances.
○ Natural Cycles does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Use a condom to protect against STIs.

Editors' Notes

Understanding the complexities of ovulation cycles is hard enough. Thankfully, Natural Cycles aims to make the monitoring process a whole lot less stressful. By logging just a few vital signs, the app’s powerful algorithm can help predict crucial fertility windows, pregnancy, or even potential miscarriages. We’re also impressed by Natural Cycles’ clear, intuitive design—no cold waiting rooms to be found here.

Worth the effort!

I used to be on a pill for many many years and once I stopped taking the hormones after getting married, I have realised what an angry person I was because of the pill. Add the weight management problems to it and I’ve promised myself to ditch the pill forever. I’ve made a bit of research and came across Natural Cycles. Since I’m a very diligent person, I decided to give it a try. The verdict? Amazing! Firstly, the output data is very good, you get a deep insight into your cycle and your body. And the data is accurate - it predicts the period, the ovulation very well. Secondly, I like how it encourages you (or not, depending on whether you plan the pregnancy or try to avoid) to give it a go. I used the app for half a year to prevent pregnancy and then to fall pregnant. And we managed to conceive on the first attempt! The app follows your pregnancy and give you some info on the progress, like the foetus size, what is happening at the moment, etc. Now My cycle has returned to normal after one year of giving birth (thanks for breastfeeding) and I’m very happy to return to NC in a prevent pregnancy mode. I admit, measuring the temperature is a bit of pain in the tooshie and I wish NC came up with the bracelet to wear during the night, which measures your temperature at the scheduled time (like Ava). But still, I would never go back to the hormones! Can fully recommend the app for women who want to prevent pregnancy and who plan it!

Everyone is different

I have been using this app for almost 2 years now to prevent pregnancy, i have even recommended this to friends and whilst I have come across complaints and issues from others re using this app and the thermometer - I have never experienced an issue or “scare” This app and the product itself is very much about putting the power and responsibility in YOUR hands- many women who complain to me that its always red, or fell pregnant or dont trust it etc need to understand that you get as much out as you put in. Yes you have to be responsible and use protection or abstain during red days ESP at the start , yes you have to be strict with taking temperature and develop a routine that works for you even when you travel (i travel a lot) and yes you have to look into the apps statistics to educate and inform yourself on how your unique body runs. All these things lead to a perfect combination of self responsibility and technology to aid you in preventing pregnancy and learning more about your body. Ive been told by nurses (when they ask me what contraception im on) that this isnt wise and isnt safe and bla bla bla and to me what isn't wise or safe is being pumped full of hormones and Chemicals you have no idea how that affects your mind body and soul. So in summary Yes this app works a treat for me but with great power comes great responsibility and you have to own it or this app will not work for you!
