Ratings and Reviews
I thought it would be great to have the Netgalley app on my iPhone, but I haven’t tried reading any books with it, as it can’t even get my shelf right. It’s got some of my current books (the ones I’m about to read), then it’s got a random selection of my previous books that I’ve submitted reviews for. It’s not even the last 20 books, it’s just a totally random selection.
Perfect for full colour texts
Reviewing on Netgalley is what we do, so seems fair to submit a fair review of netgalley shelf app too.
I’m happy to read most of the books on kindle or those with plenty of pictures on the Adobe publisher app on the iMac. However the shelf app opens up the possibility of reading those beautiful colourful books away from my desk. If I’m being mobile, it’s probably going to be the small form factor of my iPhone 12. The books load fine and I can zoom in and out to read the text. The pages scroll rather than turn which is ideal in the digital scrolling world we live in.
The only thing I’d ask to be improved is the option of rotating the screen with the phone so that I can read a clearer text in landscape and scroll that way.
Sometimes a little disappointed that I get emails about books I can request, so I do then get refused almost all the time. Why email me then? 🤷♀️
Overall brilliant app to read on especially in dark mode which I use for most apps because my eyes go gozzy 🤪 with black writing on white pages.
Is it possible to highlight? I haven't seen an option to do that, I may be looking in the wrong place...Highlight and keep highlighted on certain paragraphs and I don't mean to copy and past, but to make it stand out if and when you want to go back. This would be helpful and I’ve heard other people talk about it on other apps but does NetGalley do it?
