Much room for improvement

The app connectivity offers the potential for so many useful features. But unfortunately the app doesn’t really deliver. Data is often hard to understand, vague, or not well displayed. For example, battery usage is shown in a graph, which is only labelled at the 0 50 and 100% point, and it’s very hard to get an accurate reading from. Journey info shows info about speed and battery usage, but it’s unclear quite what the info is. Also, plenty of potential for applying settings such as indicator sounds, alarm sensitivity etc. But this can’t be done from the app. So, perhaps a nice first try but LOTS of room for improvement.

Great in general but uses google maps

This is a great app for looking at the battery level and remaining mileage when not on the bike. The only problem is the majority of people using this will live in China and as such will struggle with the map/GPS locations thanks to google being blocked here. If you use a VPN this will mess with your own location creating a different problem. This also makes another issue regarding the service function and breakdown help as your location is needed to show you accurate location of nearby shops and garages. The Chinese version of this app also has extra functionality which is disappointing as I can’t download the Chinese Version from the UK App Store. Aside from that I love the bike and app in general. It’s on the expensive side, but seems worth it.

Thanks for you comment! You are using the international version of the app, which uses Google Maps. To download the Chinese version (that has English language setting too), please change your App Store location to China! Cheers, NIU Team

Delayed status updates

May be more of a vehicle issue than an app issue, but recently I’ve been noticing that the notifications for battery removal have been pretty delayed, only being notified of well after the battery has been removed (and in some cases after the battery has been replaced)? The app itself notices the battery has been removed and displays the ECU level, but the notifications pop up hours later.
Otherwise, usually the app is pretty decent…
