A great replacement for Apple Notes App

I found myself deleting the in built notes app and replacing it with this. There are so many more beneficial ways to structure your notes and add anything you can think of to your notes such as lists , drawings, images, sections from web pages etc. Having the ability to organise your notes into separate notepads the way Evernote used to be with a series of front cover notepads works perfectly for me, and after using Evernote also you can import flawlessly to this app. I no longer use Evernote as not only does this app not restrict you to certain devices it doesn’t require your separate monthly paid plan.

This is more powerful than Evernote and a lot more organised now that Evernote restricted themselves and removed the aesthetically pleasing front covers for each notepad and just gave you separate headings on a list.

The app developers make constant improvements too, I believe this is what Apple Notes should be.

Improvements ?, hmmm I am not sure what’s next for this as overtime they have added anything that has been missing perhaps a planner or calendar function/ separate app as equally the calendar and reminders app that are inbuilt from Apple are also dreadfully weak.

I really thoroughly recommend this app.

Love it, but room for improvement

I really love this app, its simple and easy and keep all my notes very organised and is great in comparison to any other free notes taking app I’ve tried.

However there are some features I’ve found that are missing that I think would really improve the functionality of this app, that would make this app go from awesome to fantastic. Personally, I find the lack of sub tasks in the ‘to do list’ a shame because it would be really useful, just now I’m resorting to writing all the separate components of a task in brackets. Another function that is really missing is the use of a hyperlink to a specific location on another note(rather than just the whole note) and even more irritating is that you cant hyperlink to a different location on the same note. I’m using one note as a personal glossary of terms for a course I’m doing and its starting to get very extensive so being able to have a contents with hyperlinks at the beginning of a note would be a vast improvement. This has become an issue to the point that I I’ve considered switching those notes to word, but I don’t want to have to because other functionalities like handwritten notes and audio which are really good.

Overall, I love this app, its great and I will continue to use it, but I hope it keeps improving to make it even better. Hopefully this feedback will be of some use for developing updates.

IT HAPPENS

Far be it for me to criticise all the glowing reviews clearly there is a sense of isolation. The problem is understanding how or why certain features you expect fail to matérialise.
I found, having created a list, inserted a blank line, then continued with a following list, for some odd reason I couldn't move up to the previous list - still with me? - well eventually I discovered my list of names had been magically placed in an HTML style table. As a result of my actions I had created a second table, likewise a third list had been created in a third table. The point of this? I had three tables which "looked" like a perfect column but my actions now forced any edit attempt (to re-order my list alphabetically) an absolute nightmare. This construct only became apparent when transferred back to the iPad Note application.
I don't mind coloured paper, but I do mind a different pastel shade every time a new document is created, unfortunately page colour could only be corrected after content had been added. There was no obvious means of setting a default colour, default font, default No Tables. There is a need for control panel access, maybe I missed it, had I found something - anything - which permitted default settings perhaps I would have continued to use. But, with the best will and understanding, this app needs more thought and more management features. Apologies for being critical, I trust other users found a tool that suits their needs, but it wasn't for me.
