RichGain ,

Full-featured and well-supported OctoPrint client

I switched to OctoClient when my other app stopped working. You can control a single printer with the free version but as soon as I had confirmed that it worked well, I paid for the full version so that I can use it to monitor all my printers. I have had a few questions and suggestions and the developer has always responded promptly with helpful answers. My one wish would be for a quicker way of switching between printers but no real complaints at all.

Needs a bit more work but good

Don’t want to leave anything except a 5 star review, the software - and Octoprint server - are free and I have an enormous amount of appreciation for this and wouldn’t dream of leaving a bad review.

That said, there are a few minor annoyances:

- Camera image cannot be viewed fullscreen (not an app fault, it’s in the paid version, and again I want to respect the needs of the developer, of course this is totally reasonable but I’m mentioning it here as the alternative Octopod does allow this)
- Camera settings don’t respect those already set up in Octoprint (eg rotation), although you can set these in the app
- no print ETA (I have an Octoprint plugin for Prusa that provides accurate print time so this would be great)
- no print graphs, at least not in free version

Octopod iPhone app for Octoprint is fab, it’s my preference - try it out - a rising tide floats all boats!

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your thoughtful review, I really appreciate it! If I may address some of your points:

- Regarding the fullscreen camera, it does make sense for that to be a free feature. That's how it is in the version in the new design I'm working on; it will likely remain free when it's released
- I remember when that early on there was a technical issue with loading the camera preferences from OctoPrint, hence the manual settings in the app. I will revisit that decision now, thank you for pointing that out!
- I will look into adding support for the ETA plugin, thank you for the suggestion!

I have been working on a major update that greatly polishes up the app - I hope you'll give it a try 😀
Sorry for the annoyances in the current version!

Excellent app with a responsive developer

A really great addition to Octoprint. Works very well and the developer responds quickly to requests. We’ll worth paying to unlock all features and support the development. No hesitation in recommending this.
