Welcome to the 21st Anniversary Edition of Omar Sharif Bridge. With 3 modes of play, practically unlimited deals and the ability to search for hands matching one of many different criteria this Bridge card game is sure to teach, challenge and entertain you for hours.

The 21st Anniversary Edition update includes the addition of two popular bidding conventions, 2-over-1 and weak jump overcalls. Thanks for all your feedback, tips + suggestions, please keep them coming.

Omar Sharif Bridge supports the following 3 modes of play:

In Rubber Bridge a rubber is played as the best of three games. A game is won by the first partnership to score 100 or more points in successful contracts.

In Chicago Bridge, also known as Four-Hand Bridge, you play exactly four hands of Bridge. The winner is the partnership that scores the most points.

In Tournament Bridge you play at your own pace against players from around the world in duplicate style Bridge tournaments. Each player in a tournament plays the same hands with the winner scoring the most points. Alternatively you can easily create your own online Bridge club, invite your family, friends or even some enemies then play in duplicate style Bridge tournaments against your own select set of players.

What is Bridge?
Bridge is a trick taking card game played by four players who form two partnerships. Players within a partnership face each other across a table. Traditionally, the players are referred to by the points of the compass - North, East, South and West. The two partnerships are North/South and East/West.

Designed for both beginners and more advanced players you can choose how you prefer to play. There are plenty of features if you are trying to learn Bridge including auto play and hints. Meanwhile the more advanced players can use the bid analysis or replay hand features to explore different lines of card play.

Congratulations

Well done! You listened and it is back to the app we all enjoyed for years.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for your considered and eloquent review.

Dishonest

Rigs tournament deals, gives the impression that Omar Sharif endorsed this app even though it’s bridge play is terrible and they delete negative reviews so don’t believe the ratings. Notice how few reviews have appeared in the last year? I have had 2 negative reviews deleted. Developer is only creating an app to provide income not authentic bridge play. In response to your reply, none of the reviews that disappeared had inappropriate language but I understand that the App Store has had problems with disappearing reviews. It is something of a “co-incidence” that of my reviews that disappeared the thing they had in common was that they were critical of the game. If this has been commonplace it is only fair that prospective buyers be aware that the ratings may not be reliable. I said the deals were rigged: to expand, the distribution of the cards is often deliberately fixed against the player (e.g. holding queen in my hand, the opponent on my left will typically hold the king making a finesse impossible - other reviewers have noted this). Real (authentic) bridge has random deals even in duplicate bridge. Playing games where the distribution is predictable makes for extremely dull play.

Developer Response ,

How exactly is the game going to manage to 'rig' tournament deals when it delivers exactly the same ID to all players in the same tournament - so all players get exactly the same hands?.

Perhaps you can elaborate on exactly what you consider 'authentic Bridge play' and where the app does not meet your expectations?

As for deleting reviews, developers simply don't have access to delete any reviews, only Apple can do that + they will normally only delete reviews that contain inappropriate language.

Next hand play hand selection to close - now fixed!!

Have played this app for years but the latest update you can hardly select between Next hand and Play hand - consequently pressing the wrong option - why are the icons about 2mm wide?
