Description

MITSUBISHI Remote Control allows you to customize your Outlander PHEV experience from your phone.

When you connect to your PHEV’s wireless LAN, you can:
- Charge your vehicle on a timer or on demand
- Heat or cool your car before your drive
- Set timers to ensure your PHEV charges completely and avoid peak rate hours
- Turn on your headlights or parking lights to help locate your vehicle
- Check your vehicle status

The MITSUBISHI Remote Control lets you view all vehicle settings in an intuitive dashboard. Manage timer settings for charging and climate control, monitor battery status and performance, and set customized weekly schedules to reflect your lifestyle, directly from your connected device.

Please note: Your Outlander PHEV communicates with this app exclusively via Wireless LAN, not by cellular technology. Wireless LAN communication can be hindered by distance, radio waves, or physical barriers.

MITSUBISHI Remote Control is a renewed and unified experience combining and replacing the prior “OUTLANDER PHEV”, “OUTLANDER PHEV I” applications. This app is intended to provide the same functionality (and more) in an improved user interface.

For users of the earlier applications:
- “OUTLANDER PHEV” : If you are using this app, you may need to contact the nearest Authorized Mitsubishi Dealership to implement the service campaign of the security upgrade.
- “OUTLANDER PHEV I” : Please download this new MITSUBISHI Remote Control app and re-register.

No range and connection issues let this down.

Echoing the words written just before me, which sum this app up perfectly….

Great idea with barely any usability factor. Hardly ever able to find the car's WiFi network, I constantly have to toggle my WiFi off and on again to find it.
When it eventually does appear it doesn't always connect and you spend more time switching back and forth between the home network and the car's network that you just want to give up.
When, or if, you do actually get a connection then a third of the time the car doesn't actually do what you've requested so I go out to my car expecting a warm cabin and clear windows, only to find it's freezing and the windows are still frosted. You then end up running late as it takes an age to clear the windscreen because the heated screen won't switch on.
On the rare occasion it does actually work and you go to the car with a warm cabin and clear windows, then it's fantastic.

It the car had a SIM card this would be so much better.

Mitsubishi are a great company, who make great cars. Such a shame this aspect falls a bit short. Hopefully they are working on a solution.

Solved my connecting issue.

Only 2 phones can be registered with the car but the car or app doesn’t tell you this is the issue. To clear previous owners phones…
get in the car and close drivers door,
turn on hazard warning lights,
press power button without pressing brake pedal, alternatively press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the key fob 5 times so 10 times in total. All must be done within 30 seconds.
Download the app then disconnect from your home wifi and follow the normal registration instructions in your handbook. Now working for me again after upgrading my phone.

The worst app I’ve ever used

Easily the worst app I’ve ever had the misfortune of using. Great idea with barely any usability factor. Hardly ever able to find the car’s WiFi network, I constantly have to toggle my WiFi off and on again to find it. When it eventually does appear it doesn’t always connect and you spend more time switching back and forth between the home network and the car’s network that you just want to give up.

When, or if, you do actually get a connection then a third of the time the car doesn’t actually do what you’ve requested so I go out to my car expecting a warm cabin and clear windows, only to find it’s freezing and the windows are still frosted. You then end up running late as it takes an age to clear the windscreen because the heated screen won’t switch on - but that’s another story.

On the rare occasion it does actually work and you go to the car with a warm cabin and clear windows, then it’s fantastic, I’m just not sure it’s worth the stress beforehand.

Overall it’s worth having for when it does work but you’re going to be disappointed... a lot!
