Nitrox

I’ve continued with some more training online and passed the PADI Eanx course, this was a good course that explains everything in an educational step by step way using a range of videos and questions, leading to a final exam. I then followed it up with the practical part at ROHO Dive centre one evening by watching a video and having an exam. Then we had a chat and we were asked questions about everything we’d learned so far. We then finished off by using our dive computers and setting different oxygen percentages, depths and times by planning different dives. Then using the gas analysers we measured the percentages of several cylinders and labelled the cylinders this was done at Robinhood dive centre in Heckmondwyke in Yorkshire with a trainer called Rob who was a great guy. I have received my online e card so I am now qualified to use nitrox on my next dives. Great course and it gives you more time diving deeper. Looking forward to my next PADI course. Making me a safer diver and hopefully a better diver to be underwater with too.

Open water diver

The app functions well, however this is about the open water diver because I want to prevent others from making the same mistake I did with timings.
You should aim to spend only about four minutes on every single topic within each section as then that reduces your times significantly (although sometimes it can take up to 12 minutes depending how long each topic is) I did not do this at the start.

The E-learning time guidance of 10-15 hours is really wrong. The dive shop I went to said they usually say it will take 21 hours, which seems more accurate.

I spent about 30 hours on it although I spent to long on the start so without that slip up I still probably would have spent around 25 hours.

Load/log-in problems

Downloaded the app yesterday having already set up a PADI account and paid for a training course which I also want to be able to do via the app.
So far when I’ve been trying to access the app, nothing’s been happening when I hit ‘Sign in’. Repeated taps of the button or killing/restarting the app make no difference. Last night it did eventually log me in. I tried to open the app today and it wouldn’t even load. I had a splash screen but nothing more than that. I deleted the app, reinstalled it, and I’m now back to the issue of nothing happening after hitting ‘sign in’. I have a full WiFi service. If I can’t access it in an office with good wifi what hope if I’m out at a dive centre somewhere with a patchy 4G signal?
While I’ve been typing this review it’s finally logged me in but then took an age to refresh my course/registered dive centre info. Poor.
