Description
The official Palace of Versailles app. It is completely free of charge and can be used without an Internet connection.
It includes:
- the audioguide tour of the Palace: the Hall of Mirrors, the King’s Apartments, the Royal Chapel, the Battles Gallery, etc.
- the audioguide tour of the Gardens (including the Musical Fountains Shows and Musical Gardens)
- the audioguide tour of the estate of Trianon : the Grand Trianon, the Petit Trianon, the Queen's Hamlet, the Gardens of the Trianon, the remarkable trees of Trianon
- The audioguide tour of the Gallery of Coaches
- The audioguide tour of the temporary exhibitions
- An interactive geolocated map of the Estate covering more than 500 points of interest

Let the app guide you…
Using the app’s audio commentaries, discover the routes that are open to visitors, the most prestigious areas of the Palace and of the estate, as well as the least explored corners of the grounds. There are audio, text and video bonuses for extra information.
You can add ‘favorites’ which help you return to the places you have selected.
Explore without getting lost …
Thanks to the interactive map, it’s easy to find services (Wi-Fi, toilets, restaurants, etc.) and places of interest in the Palace, the Gardens of Versailles (the Groves, the Orangery, Latona Fountain…), the Trianon Estate (Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, the Queen’s Hamlet...) and the Park (the Grand Canal, the Royal Star...).
Using geolocation you can quickly see which services and places of interest are close by.
Planning your visit
Opening times, transport, advice, FAQ, etc. The app gives you the information you need to make the most of your visit and choose the best day to come, depending on the crowds and the programme of events.
The app offers direct access to the Palace ticketing service and to the Palace e-boutique.

Why such a limited app?
There is a 1-star review on this app from 5 years ago, and I’m sad to say it doesn’t look like any improvements have been made. I downloaded this before arriving, but when we got to the palace it became obvious that the app was pretty useless. It filters out things like toilets by default, and even when switched back on it wasn’t at all obvious and had poor directions. You can’t see stairs or even a proper interior map of any building. Also an issue with the whole site, when you leave it sends you outside the gift shops (very unusual for a large museum) so we didn’t get a chance to buy souvenirs. Oh well. Save yourself time and just get a paper map at the entrance!
Download the ‘Rabbids at Versailles’ app for a bit of fun though, especially if you’re a gaming fan. Much better app.
Disappointing app
This app should be a lot better. Unfortunately it doesn't really help you to get from one place to the next.
The audio and written descriptions are OK but very limited.
You are supposed to be able to tap in the number of the section you are looking at and the descriptions should come up but they do not.
In total only five locations (out of probably a few hundred) worked.
Poor
The app has so much potential but is poorly implemented.
The navigation is very clumsy and it is very had to find what you are looking for. We couldn’t find any logical connection between the layout of the rooms in the app and the actual route around the palace.
The app had a feature to go to an audio entry by number but needed 4 digits. All the audio guide entries had only three!
The terminology in the app does not match the naming and terminology at the palace. For example, we came out of the lift on the second floor but the app lists it as the first.
All in all, very disappointing.
