Needs work

The desktop version of this has a lovely planner broken up into breakfast lunch and dinner in a vertical calendar format. However the mobile version does not. I like to be able to see today's and tomorrow's menu at a glance as often I've factored in leftovers for the next days meal. No good realising that you needed to roast extra veg for soup the day after roasting it. All you need to do is make the two the same.
Also would prefer to set there default page to be the planner page. The desktop page is dreadful, first you have to 'show app commands' then select planner. Please just gives us a sidebar menu!

Looks beautiful, great idea, works for me

The one star reviews are totally missing the point. I don't *want* to laboriously peck out recipes on my phone or iPad. I want to bash them in quickly on a proper computer. Do that with Pepperplate, and then not only to you have access to them in a great-looking app, but they're up there on the web, too - so you don't even need any of your own devices to consult them! If you really want to hack your recipes in using an iOS keyboard, you can log into the site and to it that way… [and with recent updates to the app, you can add recipes from iOS, anyway].

Both apps are clear, attractive and to the point - not wasting time and space on allowing you to do things like rate recipes or upload pictures (I know what food looks like, and unless I rate the recipe highly, why would I bother typing it in???) and the sync system works extremely well. If you're on a Mac you can use Fluid to generate a site-specific browser app for the site too... It's a great all-round solution, taking into account what people actually need.

For my money, easily the best recipe app available.

Starting to show some cracks

I wrote a review of this app years ago when I first downloaded it. I still really like the app, but as there hasn’t been an update in 4+ years, I have a feeling it’s no longer being maintained—and it shows. While it still works perfectly on my iPad (which is running a much older version of iOS), running it on my phone (which runs the latest iOS13 version) is a different story. Bugs have crept in, particularly with the text features (the brackets which indent text), and when I’ve utilise that feature, entire sections of the recipe get ERASED. That’s kind of a big problem. Have the developers given up on this app? It would be a shame if so, because it was great before....

Previous review:
I can't think of a single thing wrong with this app. It does exactly what I need it to do (and probably more), is incredibly easy to use, and I love having my recipes so easily accessible.

But the reason I'm writing this review is because I recently had the opportunity to contact the developers after a minor issue with my password. They replied immediately, and it was easily the best experience I've had with customer service with any app I've used. Special thanks to Anya, who replied to my message, and made what could have been a frustrating experience a real breeze.
