PetBacker: Dog Cat Pet Sitting 4+

One of my favourite!

I've worked on PetBacker as a sitter for over a year now and I've completed quite a few jobs, some of them lasting 2-3 months, some 2-3 days haha! I love how easy it is and although the chat system has some glitches from time to time, the customer and user support is always quick and friendly, and it's great how many people can connect and befriend their pets and have a peace of mind. I enjoy spending time with animals and I'm glad I've found this app a year ago and that it has helped me meet intresting people with lovely kittens and doggys, and fortunately earning a bit on the side because of it! So far awesome app I can't believe I haven't put a review for so long haha!

Good app but payments take a long time

This app is great for getting into contact with new customers etc, however as a business owner already, some of PetBackers ‘perks’ aren’t very useful for me. For example, paying for insurance through PetBacker, this takes off quite a significant sum of money from each and every booking when I have my own insurance anyway. There should be a feature which allows you to provide evidence of your own insurance in order to avoid being charged for theirs. Also you can only pay and be paid through PayPal which takes up to 2 weeks all in all. It comes in around 6/7 working days but including weekends this is a lengthy process. It would be a lot more beneficial if payments could be requested straight to your bank account to cut out a lot of the waiting. I use a number of other ways to advertise my business and gain new custom, PetBacker is okay but definitely not the best.
They have created a new payout method which is advertised as ‘paid directly into your bank account’ however it gets transferred to an invoicing company called tazapay and you have to provide all sorts of business registration proof to be able to withdraw your own hard earned money! Now as a dog Walker earning below registration threshold, I don’t have those documents and I know lots of other service providers on PetBacker don’t! Not only is this false advertisement but it’s also depriving us of our own hard earned cash!

Thank you for the feedback. The insurance is a free service which we provide to the pet owners regardless of whether the sitter has their own insurance. The service fees are for the maintenance and improvement of the platform and our services as well as for the advertisement and marketing efforts we put out to bring you more jobs. We will definitely improve on our payments process too. Typically payouts are processed right after the 2 day dispute period for subsequent jobs. Only the first job may take longer for inveistigations if it does not have a 5 star review. Do contact our support team in the app so we may have a discussion how we may make the experience better for you.

Great pet sitters but the app is terrible

Very mixed feelings! While I’m happy about the service recieved from the pet sitter, I also got requests from people who had no idea what they’re doing.
Secondly the app is not very user friendly, starting from the chat where the newest mesages start at the top? So to see the newest message i need to scroll up (which can take a long time).
Thirdly who came up with the system of nights? It’s super confusing for me to count them out & even though it may seem simple, somehow I managed to make the mistake of giving the sitter wrong dates. Especially if you’re trying to fit them around your flights & half days when your pet would still be at the sitters, counting nights is not convienient. Would be much easier if you could choose start date & collection date (also seems more logical?)
I will definitely be looking for alternatives as going through this terrible app is super stressful when giving your baby away to a stranger.
