Deserves more stars but is held back by irritating booking process online.When I eventually find the Arts, log on, buy my tickets - all v easy - I have to pay, here is where it becomes irritating. Every time I do so I have to fill my address, numbers, country etc. I get a little pleasure from spinning the country options and settling on a roulette-decided Ecuador and Cameroon ( my random countries of residence today). Buy anything elsewhere and my details are remembered. The cynic in me suggests that no one really care about my name, address etc. just as long as the money bit is correct.

Looks nice and all, quite similar experience to the old one app. Can’t say where the improvements are. Since my initial review the essential feature to add tickets to my phone wallet is back. So far so good. Since then I’ve struggled to book member rate tickets for my friends with their membership numbers. This was possible before, while I still had to keep a list of which number belongs to whom, the app retained previously used membership numbers. Now I cannot find how to book for friends. Would be great to be able to add membership numbers and label them with nicknames. A great feature would be if the app would show me all movies showing at my preferred cinemas today and allow me to look through the week. I can get this for a single cinema once selected in the “Cinemas” tab, but not more. Also a feature the old app never had, which would be amazing: Accept Meerkat movies codes! We’re getting there!

Before the update, I went to see films about twice a month. Since the update, it’s more like once every 2 months. I will not be renewing my membership this November. It functions. But since the update it’s so hard to find films that are actually playing on certain dates, eg tomorrow. You have to click through every film (and every time you click back, it returns you to the top of the page). Films are not in date order - two films next to each other and one might be playing tomorrow, the other in 6 months time - and there is no way to filter them by date. I use the app less now (and therefore go to fewer films) because I don’t enjoy opening it and using it to find new films. It’s just annoying to use. But if you do actually book a film, it will work.

This version of the app is extremely hard to use and navigate. The look of it is also glaringly more unpleasant to look at than the old one. The previous iteration of the app was far easier to use and looked far better. I am a member and attend Picturehouse often, partly due to the ease of the previous app and my ability to see what was on that day immediately upon opening the app. This version does not allow for that and is so ugly I don’t even want to open it. My attendance has genuinely decreased because the app is so frustrating it makes me give up before even booking to go. Please consider going back to your previous aesthetic and user interface. Picturehouse has a great vibe and aesthetic and the app should reflect that! I love my local cinema and want it to succeed, so please make your app more user friendly! Sincerely, A loyal customer!
